inZOI, the ambitious life sim game that's finally given The Sims some real competition, is still planned for release on PS5, but it'll be coming later than we thought.
Developer inZOI Studio has confirmed its intention to bring the title to PS5 "in the first half of 2027" rather than sometime in 2026.
In a statement on Steam, the team says it doesn't want the PS5 version to simply "recreate the PC version one-to-one", and that it wants the port to "feel natural and fully suited for console players."

The developer goes into a couple of key areas it's focusing on for the console port.
Firstly, it's targeting "console-optimised controls" and improvements to the UI/UX. "While the current UI layout is based primarily on keyboard and mouse controls, we are focusing on optimizing the control flow so that menus and UI elements on screen can also be selected and controlled comfortably with a gamepad," it says.
The second area of attention is ways in which the game can "make use of the unique appeal of the console environment" — for example, using the DualSense's unique features.
inZOI is a life sim in a similar vein to The Sims, only with more realistic visuals and broad features like managing the weather, creating buildings, and extensive customisation across the board.
It's been in early access on PC for over a year at this point, and the reception from players has been very positive.

Kinda looking forward to this but I don't expect it to run well even on the PS5 Pro.
It looks fun, but I'm too busy with my own life to live a second one 😅
