Publisher and developer Argonaut Games has announced its second remaster release; it's bringing back Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos, with its originally scrapped subtitle now intact.
Yes, the sequel to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, which was brought back on modern platforms last year, is on the way, scheduled for release on PS5 and PS4 in Q4 2026.
Here's the announcement trailer for a dose of nostalgic glee:
Croc 2's remaster looks to be a similar offering to the original, enhancing the visuals and controls but keeping the core game very much intact.

If you've not played the sequel, it's a bigger game with more varied stages and challenges. Croc sets off to find his long lost parents, but the villainous Baron Dante sets after him on a quest for revenge.
In addition to quality-of-life improvements and the visual overhaul, the remaster also includes the Croc2pedia, echoing the Crocipedia from the last game.
This is a sort of museum mode that'll include interviews with the devs, cut content, design documents, and more, giving you a bunch of behind-the-scenes insight.
"We've made no secret of the fact that if Croc did well in the market, the obvious next project would be to remaster Croc 2," said Mike Arkin, co-CEO of Argonaut Games, in a press release. "Croc's successful return exceeded what we hoped for, and that made the decision easy. Croc 2 was originally built on a totally different engine to Croc, posing its own set of remastering challenges, but the early work we did to validate our approach paid off."
"Croc 2 was always the plan, once we saw how fans embraced the first remaster," said Argonaut founder Jez San OBE. "It's a real pleasure to see the next chapter in Croc's story brought to today's modern platforms, and I can't wait for both longtime fans and new players to experience it in glorious HD."

The only thing I have ever won from a contest happened years ago as a kid. I got my parents to buy me a multipack of Jaffa cakes from Costco and I won a PS1 with Croc 2, so this brings back some awesome childhood memories!
Look forward to the nostalgia trip
I wonder if history will repeat, with Croc being incredibly successful and then no one, including myself, ever seeing a copy of Croc 2.
I own it now but man.
Are they keeping the jolly ranchers?
YES. This is my first game ever. Peak nostalgia and a decent game that's quite underrated (and very difficult)
That's my 8 year old very happy this has been accounced
So Croc 3 could be a possibility?
Ooo I never played Croc 2 before, so this remaster is up my alley. I enjoyed the remaster for the first game.
@Sakai That's brilliant, not only did you get a PS1 and a copy of Croc 2, you also got some Jaffa Cakes. Congrats my friend
I'm likely in the minority here, but sadly I'll have to give Croc 2 a hard pass, as I was very much hoping to have enjoyed Croc 1 last year (which I did first play back in my childhood 20 years back but never beat); however the rough ground physics, poor underwater controls and enemy projectiles flinging at Croc sometimes faster than he can dodge them left me too frustrated to continue beyond the desert world area.
Or maybe I was just bad at the game, I dunno.
Perfect, never got to play the sequel back then
@Shadeon_Koopa yeah I was really disappointed with it. Quite a lazy port to be honest.
Its fair to have and I'll buy it, never played it before, only have the 1st one and got further then I ever it years ago when used to have it physical for PS1 (not Saturn or PC), but I mean I'd still rather other IPs of Argonaut's be revived too. That or just make a new IP if they can as well.
Never played i-Ninja, beat Malice 100% that was fun. They have plenty they could offer.
Still Croc 2 has a lot of interesting ideas and did have differences from the 1st one.
Nice. Never played this one.
