With the recent news regarding Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2, hype for all things Cyberpunk 2077 has been through the roof.
First up is Wuthering Waves, with the addition of Lucy and Rebbeca as playable characters, and now we're seeing Apex Legends get a visit from some Night City residents.
This includes Legend and weapon skins, along with Night City itself being a playable map in the Wildcard E-District takeover.
The Store skins in this event include:
- Sparrow as David Martinez
- Axle as Lucy
- Rampart as Rebbeca
- Gibraltar as Royce
- Ash as Lizzy Wizzy
- Loba as Panam
Skins for Mirage and Valkyrie can also be obtained via the event reward shop, with Mirage being Kang Tao-themed, and Valkyrie being Arasaka-themed.
You will also be able to get "preem" new skins for various weapons, including the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L Star, P2020, RE-45, R-301, Kraber, and most importantly, a Skippy skin for the alternator, equipped with talkative AI installed directly onto the weapon.
Along with skins and map changes, there are also new abilities that are being added, all of which are inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners:
- Sandevistan: Allows for quick, precise dashes that recharge your shields while letting you delta out of dangerous situations.
- Blackwall Breach: Lets you phase into the net and then emerge while simultaneously unleashing an EMP that makes short work of enemies' shields while also placing a tracker on them for a short duration.
These shiny new pieces of chrome come at a cost, however, with each usage pushing the limit on your cyberware capacity, eventually turning you a "cyberpsycho" if not kept in check, which grants you high movement speed and melee damage, at the expense of weapons, abilities, ordinance, and shields.
But have no fear, chrome fiends, as the effects of cyberpsycosis can be easily reversed with immunoblocker syringes found throughout the match.
