You could be playing Santa Monica Studio’s wildly ambitious God of War Laufey within the next year, assuming plans haven’t changed internally.
The unfortunately named snoop NateTheHate2 – who leaked the existence of this game well in advance of its announcement at this month’s State of Play – wrote on X (or Twitter) that he’d heard the title was targeting the first half of 2027.
He stressed that plans “could change” but this was “the hope at one point”.
Asked whether Until Dawn 2 could also release in the same window, the sneak said it’s possible but “timelines could shift [and] nothing is set in stone at this stage”.
It’ll be interesting to see where Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet fits into all this, and whether Sony may hold it for the PS6 at this point, where it could deploy as a cross-gen game on launch day.
Either way, 2027 is shaping up to be a big year for PlayStation’s first-party studios, as they finally look set to fire on all cylinders again.
