As promised, PlayStation dropped over 15 minutes of new Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart gameplay in its latest State of Play broadcast. To be frank, the upcoming PS5 exclusive looks utterly ridiculous. The visual fidelity on display here is truly absurd at times, to the point where we almost can't believe what we're looking at.

The most insane part, though? It's got to be those load times — or lack thereof. It's been highlighted before, but Rift Apart makes full use of the PS5's lightning fast SSD. The game can load totally different environments almost instantly, allowing Ratchet — or new character Rivet — to leap through different dimensions in seamless fashion. It's, as editor Sammy Barker would say, "bonkers".

There's a lot to glean from this lengthy gameplay demonstration as well. Ratchet is now more mobile than ever before, and the aforementioned rifts let you navigate battlefields at breakneck speed. Not only does it look amazing, Rift Apart appears to be a blast to play.
