Just had a look at Darksiders III, a great game for anyone interested, but unfortunately it did not get the FPS improvement I was hoping for. Still hope it gets a patch to achieve this down the road. It will be a great improvement on a great game.

Interesting that they list assassin's creed syndicate as having no issues on ps5 - it's lacking the "GFX issues" tag, whereas a number of other titles, some of them in the PS plus collection, are tagged as having GFX issues.

Does anyone know if the AC Syndicate issues were fixed? Asking as a PS5 owner who skipped a generation after owning a PS3 (RIP, died in Jan 2020)

So to get the uprated fps and the like, does the PS4 game have to be installed on the PS5s internal drive?

@danlk1ng - They are not fixed in my testing about a week ago. Still very pronounced in certain situations.

I would say that database still needs some work.

EDIT: Just to be clear @JapaneseSonic, I was responding to your earlier post about AC:Syndicate.

I have noticed some strangeness with some backward compatible games. Like weird green squiggle line flashes/white flashes, just some odd artifacts from time to time.

Here's my question, shouldn't we call it current-gen now that it's out? Or is everybody else like me, still thinking PS5's release was just a dream.

I’ve been playing a little bit of Killzone: Shadow Fall on the PS5 and wow does that game feel fresh at a silky 60fps!

Feels buttery smooth and is more enjoyable to play than I remember.

Finally a single good database, not separate articles all over

@PhantomMenace84 thanks it’s been driving me nuts. I actually just ordered a new TV thinking that was the issue. Probably jumped the gun with that but I’ll grab a new hdmi 2.1 for the PS5 just in case. I’ve read some of the included cables have had issues

Really cool to have a site with all this info compiled together.

I was curious if they had Yakuza 7 on the site since I noticed alot of little graphical glitches during cutscene that I assumed were from playing it via BC and wanted to see if it is indeed from playing it on the PS5. It was the only game so far from what I've played to do it.

It would have been good if this had come sooner and from Sony themselves. This will prove to be a handy resource indeed.

Incidentally, what happened to Dark Souls Remastered? Despite owning and enjoying the Switch version, I’ve been tempted to pick it up for PS in sales. This information makes it sound like it’s not going to look dramatically different to the Switch version, with its pared-down effects.

The biggest issue I have with the PS5 is the fact they've carried over this ridiculous always on function with HDR from their UHD players.

Now I can check games in an instant on whether they are native in HDR, rather than force it because at the moment, HDR is off.

@Nexozi No, I was responding to the comment about AC:Syndicate.

You can run BC games from external storage directly. If your external storage is an SSD, you won't see much performance difference from running on internal storage. If your external storage is HDD, load times will be substantially slower than if you were on the internal.

It lists Jedi Fallen Order as supporting HDR but not locked 60 fps, which I thought it did unless I'm mistaken.

Xcom 2 is unplayable on ps5.! The audio does not work in the game.. You can't hear any voice line from the npcs.. The Tempest Engine is probably ruin it.. 😢 😢 So horrible!

@evan23 Ah, thanks. Going to put a couple on the SSD then and just keep the rest on the HDD.

So thankful for this data. I was really hoping someone would compile it so I can tackle my backlog based on what works best on PS5.

Edit: Looks like it is a good time to play Telltale games if you haven't. Walking Dead, Tales From the Borderlands, and Batman all have improved framerate. The stuttering framerate always dampened the experience a little before.

I remember playing The Walking Dead Season One on release. Thinking back, that game was exceptionally choppy.

Does anyone know if the PS5 automatically supersamples PS4 games on a 1080P TV like the PS4 Pro did when it was enabled? It's the only thing that puts me off playing PS4 games on a PS5.

Also this website lists Wreckfest at 60fps on a PS5 which I don't think is correct.

@StartWars Yes it does supersample (you have the same option as on the PS4Pro to toggle in the settings).

And the site in the article has a lot (but really a lot) of mistakes.

If you go look at the list compiled on Resetera by Liabe Brave - https://www.resetera.com/threads/ps5-backwards-compatibility-all-ps4-games-with-benefits.322747/ -, which is allegedly the source the info was taken from (I'm very doubtful about that, because if it's true, they did a very bad job transferring the data), you'll see the correct info about the games in question.

For example, on Resetera, Wreckfest is shown as being "Locked 30 fps" (which is true) and Assassin's Creed Syndicate as having graphical glitches (which is also true).

@Olmaz Where is the option to activate supersampling for PS4 games? There was one on PS4 Pro but I can't find one on PS5.

@Ridwaano I'd suggest trying to reinstall the game as that's new to me, I found XCOM 2 completely buggy on the ps4 to the point I've never got past about 10 missions in on any run. Installed on Ps5 and it ran so beautifully I was actually able to finish it for the first time, only glitched on one mission about half way through! Would recommend playing on Ps5 to anyone like me whose never been able to get it working fully on ps4.

@StartWars My bad, there is no setting to turn on/off on the PS5, my mind was playing tricks with me...

I don't own a 1080p display so I can't verify, but apparently the PS5 does supersample games automatically (but that may not be the case for some games that force a specific display mode when they detect a 1080p display).
