In what might be one of the most left-field teases we've come across in quite some time, Wolfenstein developer Machine Games is making an Indiana Jones game. The publisher's official Twitter account has just put out a short, 33-second clip featuring the classic theme song as well as a whip. Following up on that tweet is a quick statement, reading: "A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, @MachineGames, and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with @LucasfilmGames. It'll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!"

"The game will tell a wholly original, standalone tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer."

It sounds like the game is very early in development, similar to what we saw with IO Interactive's Project 007. Both Bethesda and Machine Games simply wanted to reveal the news and accompanying excitement as soon as possible. Now, the question for PlayStation 5 owners becomes one of whether they'll be able to play it on their new console or not. This Indiana Jones experience appears to be at least a few years away from launch, and we know that Microsoft's acquisition of the publisher will be finalised at some point this year. Therefore, your guess is as good as ours right now.
