Sucker Punch, the developer behind the inFAMOUS series and Ghost of Tsushima, is hiring for new, unannounced projects. Shocking! But the real story here is that one job listing — narrative writer — seems to hint at what one of these projects might be. Surprise surprise, it sounds like Sucker Punch could be planning a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima.
One requirement reads: "Desire to write stories set in feudal Japan", while the ideal candidate would have "knowledge of feudal Japanese history". Potentially exciting stuff.
There's been a lot of debate over where Ghost of Tsushima could go next. The Mongol invasion that the game is based upon is a relatively small slice of history, but there's obviously so much more that could be done with Japan's rich past. The term "feudal Japan" is incredibly broad, but it's not hard to imagine a Ghost of Tsushima sequel where rival clans are clashing on the mainland. After all, Jin Sakai is basically an early ninja — an occupation that would flourish over the centuries that followed.
What would you like to see from a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima? Emerge from the shadows in the comments section below.

I think the game has been too well liked not to get a sequel, so hopefully they continue something within the world, wether with Jin as protagonist or not
Well the game was a huge success (I think) so it would be stupid to not make a sequel
@Medic_Alert GOT on PS5? oh yes.....
I mean I wouldn't mind a Ghost game during the Sengoku Era with Nobunaga, Ieyasu and Hideyoshi involved. From the beginning all the way to the end at the Siege of Osaka during the Winter and Summer Campaigns.
Given how thing everything went....Ghost Of Kyoto anyone?
Infamous>GoTsushima
i want infamous SS sequel. If not I would at least like remake of infamous 1 and 2 - bluepoint sort it out!
I wish this thing as a sequel with different protagonist on different eras of the samurai with next sequel being about a samurai under Nobunaga during the Sengoku Jidai ( and call it the Ghost of Owari ) and the third part will all about the end of the samurai ( during the Bakumatsu period ) where you are a member of the Shinsengumi trying to preserve the way of the samurai and call it the "Ghost of the Shinsengumi"
@rockertherockgod @OmegaStriver So much this. inFamous was one of the best PS franchises, but it feels like they abandoned it too early. 1 & 2 were great, but it didn't seem Sucker Punch knew what to do after Cole. Second Son had some great aspects, but it felt very lost and the mood change from 1 & 2 was too stark (1's still the best "mood"!) Gameplay was fun, but the whole thing felt rushed for launch window, incomplete, and too short.
Sony seems to have a quiet policy that any series that misses sales targets gets abandoned and they move to something new. Some great franchises had sales duds, and the series were ended there. inFamous, Sly, heck I want to see more Gravity Rush, too! I'm hoping with PS5 since most of the "big guns" are arriving with sequels in year 1, there's another 6 years to revive some of these abandoned franchises. Though it depends how long a GoT2 will take of SP's time, and if they have multiple games in the works at once or not.
Looks like I’m not alone but I’m also disappointed they might not be making another Infamous yet.
I haven’t played GOT yet, and heard good things about it! But Infamous is just too much fun to let go of.
Absolutely want to see Sengoku period followed by Edo period with cities and massive castles. A MP castle siege would be amazing!
Please let it be a decent Ninja game
@OmegaStriver Infamous><GoTsushima fantastic exclusives all over, no need to bring down one to elevate others.
For me Ghost has been my favorite game this year, really beautiful game. That being said I would prefer they let Ghost rest and give us a new infamous next, after that then they can give us another Ghost.
The game deserves a sequel and to launch with a limited edition PS5.
This will be very welcome in my books! But I would also love another Infamous loved them games!
A sly cooper collection will be n.i.c.e. or. Sly cooper 5.but 👻 ghost sequel is cool with me.word up son
Could we see a new game titled Fool of Owari?
Ghost and Second Son were both great, fun games. I'm open for a sequel in either universe...just as I'm open for something new entirely. PlayStation Studios have proven that they know how to create new IP, while reinventing existing IP. You know your studios are doing a bang up job when Days Gone is considered the first party disappointment of this gen (Days Gone is a great, highly underrated game).
@PeterN80 Disagreed, no pvp. Just single-player or coop
Spoiler Alert: in real life the Mongols invaded Tsushima Island twice.
I Think They Should Do The Muromachi Period Next.
Still wondering if there will be a PS5 version of the game, like how Insomniac is doing with Spider-Man.
Maybes it's an infamous origin story, the first known conduit in feudal Japan
@JapaneseSonic I'm sure they do let studios try new IPs, and even encourage it. I agree, I get tired of the endless sequel parade of modern gaming. But some franchises have enough age on them and really could use more frequent editions as time goes by. It's been, what, 7 years since the last inFamous? More than that since Sly. I think what makes it frustrating is when games like Second Son are clearly incomplete and kind of leave you waiting for the next real adventure - lots of potential that never got fully explored, but then leaves you hanging.
MS isn't so bad with that. They've been milking Halo forever, and Gears's second trilogy. Forza is a licenced, iterative series by nature. But other than that most of their stuff has been the opposite problem: One and done, nothing gets a sequel, and gets forgotten in the bargain bin forever. If anything they're a bit too experimental with new IPs that don't become IP,s they just become games that people forget existed.
Infamous first please. They need to stick with their better IP honestly
I hope this is true, loved the game from what I've seen of trailers, reviews, and random gameplay!
Sequel? Almost definitely going to be story DLC. Or at least story DLC sold in a new box with a different label... unless you all consider First Light or the new Miles Morales as proper sequels... which probably isn't 100% wrong, I just consider them more of new campaign expansions.
With all the assets they made, and all the time they spent making this game, they are definitely going to get some more juice out of it. They'll probably do the same thing as First Light - new character, some new skills, same map with some redesigns to show time has passed, a couple new areas, and that's about it.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think that that's going to be bad - I'm just saying it's definitely not gonna be a full, new "sequel", by what were used to considering a sequel.
