@Tharsman It was people trusting some random dude with a thousand or so followers on Twitter who said it would be Monday 13th. Lord knows why people thought they would wait all this time to announce the price then just drop it out of nowhere. They're waiting for MS and MS are waiting for Sony. It's one big game of corporate chicken.

I'm fine with it. I have the 2nd pre-order in the entire company for Gamestop Ireland (since they opened them in December) so I'll have mine.

Amazon Placeholders/Microsoft Store leaks etc all cause a stir, but the fact people were queuing outside shops to do it based off a rumour on social media, is priceless.

Oh boy. This is already getting crazy. I did not even know all this happened. So if real, I would have missed it.

I got a PS4 at launch and getting my Switch was super easy on day 1. But this launch seems like it will be only for the hardcore people 🙄

They were legit laughing about people lining up outside stores. Geoff could barely contain his giggles. Love it!

I get mine day one either way. Registering my interest on ShopTo according to them guarantees a PS5 being reserved in my name until I either accept or decline it in which I have 30 days to do so.

I registered the day the website put it up. I would suggest people who are not concerned with the cost either way and just want one regardless to consider a similar approach.

That interview was more interesting than the Xbox "gameplay". Nice to see the controller hands on.

@ooSNYPZoo Gamestop Ireland has a history of creating them early and once all editions of them become available, they're automatically transferred over in the order they were placed in.

@piggyhero You are exactly right. They both want to price it under the other. But that is stupid. Price it for what it is worth. People are going to buy it regardless.

It's quite simple. If you head over to ShopTo.net (other retailers may be doing the same thing though) and register your interest for the PS5 they add it to your preorder list for 1p.

According to the email I got they guarantee you will be among the first to be offered a console. They will get the stock in based on the amount of registered preorders and will give those people 30 days when the date and price has been made official to either accept or decline your preorder.

If you decline, your preorder will be offered to another customer.

If you've never heard of ShopTo before they are a very trustworthy company based in the UK. I've been buying games from them for nearly 12 years now.

I will pre-order as soon as Sony says it's available through official channels. There's random people on Twitter leading sheeple astray, just wait until you hear something from Sony lol SMH. Besides that, has anyone else come across extremely biased gaming journalism claiming the XSX is the superior console and blah blah blahhh?!? In the past week I've come across 3 articles where the write sits there and claims Microsoft has positioned themselves as the console to beat in the upcoming generation (I don't see how?) but yeah man I'm surprised at how many stores there are that reads this way.

Geoff tried to get Eric Lempel into the Console Wars but I like how Eric just ignored him + When it comes, I will come er erm I mean I'll pre-order it ;-o

I'm too broke this generation anyways and I still haven't got my stimulus check yet. Luckily no must have games are dropping during launch this time and I have my PC which has a 1080ti and can hold its own still. Next year I guess.

I always find Game UK the best for day one console and game releases. Never let me down in shop or over internet.
The day preorders go live I shall stay up until midnight and when it’s 12:00am preorder.

My guess is August reveal on more games - price reveal - bundle selections and then release date early to mid November! This could tie in with call of duty maybe?

Not pre ordering until I see it in black. I've decided to wait. Had day 1 PS3 and PS4. This time I can wait if only the white is released on launch day

It's just hard to believe that both- the PS4 and the Xbox (whatever that ridiculous name is) are both coming out in a matter of months and yet pre orders aren't open, and we don't even know the prices of both machines.

When xbox speak about their console they talk about it being the most powerful and games looking the best their.
When Playstation speak about their console (referring to the Amazon landing pages), they say fast loading, quick SSD. Playstation don't sound confident in saying their console is powerful in comparison to xbox. Previous generations playstation would reference the power of the console. Being silent in this area speaks volumes.

That's what I thought but Ms is really playing chicken with the Lockhart and they said they wont make any HW announcement next week even if they should feel more pressure to announce the SS.
Sony might say *** it and go ahead. We know they d get blamed for stalling but not Ms.

@Menchi Dang I preorder atleast a grand a year(Star Wars collector also) and know the store manager and still have to show up when they are announced to reserve mine. I'm in the US but still and it takes 100 down plus 5 for every other item ie headset, game,and extra controller. Of course if you don't you get one of there great "bundle" scams for day one online purchase only.

I never pre-order 1st iteration anyway. Will wait for the black variant and possibly a revised version.

The pre-orders with out a official announcement just seemed crazy wrong. The fact we still do not even have a price announcement yet yelled FAKE. It's going to be fun trying to snag the hottest Item in 2020. Second only to toilet paper!

I will be patient like a spider with one leg on the web waiting on any vibration alerting me that my prey ready to spring on it. I hope to not only catch a PS5 but also a PS5 3D headphones and charging station.

I really hope i get a pre order on this amazing console.
