Last month, the internet was ablaze with rumours of a Silent Hills revival on PlayStation 5 with Hideo Kojima speculated to be a part of the project. Konami has since stated that this was all completely false, but in the time since then, the sources of those supposed leaks have actually doubled down on their claims. What's more, video game forums are now running amok all over again thanks to two very interesting Instagram posts from a Japanese Manga artist.
Suehiro Maruo, known for his work on various horror Mangas, posted the following to his Tumblr and Instagram with a caption reading: "Afternoon invitations hope you'll join in."
So, what could this mean? We think it's pretty clear that Maruo was visiting Konami for an unknown reason, but the Silent Hills image itself? It looks like some sort of gigantic gravestone -- truly bizarre. That would be fitting with the horrific and twisted themes of the franchise, however, so we could believe that the Japanese publisher would do something such as this.
As always, take these rumours with a grain of salt, but this is certainly an interesting revelation. What do you make of the Instagram posts? Do you believe that Silent Hills on PS5 is really happening? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Knowing konami... this will be a mobile game.. they like destroying their franchises
A sequel to 2019's Silent Hills Pachinko.
I would love a remake of the originals, never played them and have tried them on ps now, but just can't get into it think the controls are so dated and graphics are pretty dated to. Hopefully they make s remake like the resident evil
Probably to use silent hill as a mobile pachinko game
@Daleaf Unfortunately it’s the HD versions on PS Now that absolutely butcher the originals. Silent Hill 2 is probably the greatest game ever made so I’d definitely recommend you give the original version another go. Fans are remastering the PC version and it looks incredible so far so that solves the graphics issue and the controls are no worse than classic Resi.
It'll be an anime dating sim, and be called "Silent Hill" because a shirt a character is wearing or a cafe you can bring a date to is called "Silent Hill". That way, they can trademark Silent Hill and call anything they want Silent Hill without actually giving us Silent Hill. And sadly, some people will buy it.
@nessisonett yea I really want to give them another try, will try and give silent hills 2 a go. Just got the plat for last of us finally, so in a bit of a limbo atm, not sure what to play got control to get back to but not sure I'm in the mood, so might give sh2 another go.
@Daleaf If you have a PC that’s not rubbish then you should be able to run the fan remaster, I’d at least recommend watching one of the dev diaries on YouTube, it’s seriously impressive work!
These rumors are doing me in. Either announce the damn game properly or stop tormenting me with a project that will never be.
@nessisonett nah don't have. Pc, and prefer playing on consoles anyway. Will check out the video on YouTube though. Cheers m8
You know whats really sad is all the pachinko machines dont even use the IPs they have held hostage. Silent hills, metal gear, castlevania arent even part of that nonsense. Why wouldnt they take a massive lump sum for extra cash flow and let somebody do something?
The gravestone means that Maruo visited Konami and they confirmed that they had buried the game/franchise.
@Nyne11Tyme Oh, they are most definitely a part of that nonsense.

@SirRealDeal sorry i should have clarified. Look up the...i dunno...top 20 grossing machines and what's plastered on them. It isnt any of the 3 i mentioned. Most of the best arent even theirs just licensed agreements. Number 1 is far and away Fists of the North Star. Just makes me sad it's relegated to a form of gambling the rest of the world laughs at. And those properties dont create 1 entire % of the money
Make it happen! This is on top of my wish list. A Silent Hill game developed in japan. It’s been a criminally long time since we’ve had this. And I don’t count PSVita and pachinko games.
Pachinko VR for PS5
I'd really love a mobile game with in app purchases for cosmetic features.
