PS4 Firmware Update 7.50 Beta Test

Update: PS4 firmware update 7.50 is very much real, and invites are being sent out around the world. As previously reported, the correspondence from Sony confirms that there are no “major consumer-facing features during the beta period”. However, this doesn’t rule out the possibility of additions in the final release. The email also mentions “quality-of-life and performance fixes”.

Original Article: The PlayStation 4's next firmware update is reportedly on its way. PlayStation is apparently sending out update 7.50 beta invites via email in Japan, as noted by Twitter users @dolly_silent and @HI_Ricky. However, it's probably not worth getting too excited just yet.

The emails themselves mention that there are no new features included in this beta test -- it simply improves system stability. This doesn't necessarily mean that the final firmware 7.50 update will be the same, but we suggest keeping your expectations in check. Hopefully we learn more about 7.50 in the near future.

In the meantime, are there any additional features you'd still like to see on PS4? Give us your best ideas in the comments section below.
