Update: Even the file size for the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo has leaked, and guess what? It's pretty darn big. If you haven't already heard, people managed to pull the demo from Sony's servers over the holidays. Some of them even managed to install and run the demo on their PS4. As such, we now know that the demo weighs in at a hefty 22.5GB.
Meanwhile, Square Enix is yet to comment on any of this. Hopefully the demo still gets released after all of this drama, because we're dying to get our hands on it.
Original story: Following on from the latest Final Fantasy VII Remake demo leak -- which basically confirmed that, yes, the demo is definitely happening -- a full playthrough has made its way onto YouTube courtesy of user LM V2. Split into three 15 minute videos, this new leak tells us everything we need to know.
The demo will cover the entirety of the first bombing run from the beginning of Final Fantasy VII, in which Cloud joins Barrett and his pro-planet group AVALANCHE as they attempt to blow up one of Shinra's power plants. It concludes with the Guard Scorpion boss fight, followed by the gang's escape.
Going by the length of the aforementioned videos, the demo should last around an hour, so it's quite meaty. Of course, now all we need is a release date. Don't keep us hanging, Square Enix!

@Arugula I doubt it will to be honest, the battle system will take a bit of getting used to before it’s fully enjoyable I think!
I'll just wait for the demo. No reason to spoil b myself further.
On the one hand I really want to try it, but on the other, I want to wait until I have the complete game in my hands.

Oh the anticipation is on another level . No materia to be levelling up oh wait there is a restore Materia I think.

I have had the special Edition on pre-order for Months but I'm really undecided whether I should play the demo..
I'm not a big fan of RPGs but.... The fact that this isn't turn based combat like the original, coupled with the amazing visuals, I might actually have to get this game!!!

Figures. I hope that doesn't mean some jerk is gonna put the game out ahead of release though. Some of these YouTubers are just linking to the files for these people to try and crack open.

I watched some of the playthrough and I have to say I absolutely love the character interactions. It actually makes me more hyped about the other parts rather than this part 1 to be honest.
At least it shouldn't be a big download being Square Enix...only what say 70gb+!!

My Son is actually excited for this, he played on psp/vita a few times, tho he mainly plays fortnight/GTA online

I can't take this anticipation, lock me away from social media until it's out, this is killing me.
I am pretty happy that Square Enix is recreating the past with a demo of the Bombing Run as it did with the original Final Fantasy VII.
I believe it was OPM that issued the PS1 demo disc, but my memory is fuzzy on the exact details.

I did look up the details on the original demo, and it was PlayStation Underground that sent out the disc with the demo.
It was also on another disc called Square's Preview Extra, though I don't think that was as wide-spread as the PlayStation Underground version.

I was a small kid when the demo/game came out so i don't remember much of it but i remember playing it years later when the success of FF7 increased its popularity. Been a Final Fantasy fan ever since.

Thank you. I'm so sick of game companies refusing to release a demo. I've passed on tons of games because of that only to get them for free on psn+ a year later. Turns out I enjoyed it and you lost a new release sale. Demos get me to buy more games than turn me off games.

I remember taking my time playing that game to death during Middle School and some of High School (I'll be turning 31 in 2 weeks).
I kind of want to wait for the full game to experience this classic opening.

@Gumbopudding it’s interesting to note that most of the biggest publishers seem to not have demos for their games. Bethesda. Activision.
It’s almost like they want to hide their invariably broken/micro transaction-laden games until after the initial sales window/review embargo.
Capcom, on the other hand usually provide a free demo for their big titles. Their games sell in the millions consistently AND usually garner critical acclaim. They have confidence in their products and confidence in their consumer base. It’s a lesson to behemoths like Activision and Bethesda. One they aren’t learning, but a lesson all the same.
