Update (4/12/19): UKIE, the association that provides these charts, has shared updated information on last week's UK sales data. This more accurate info puts Marvel's Spider-Man at number 10. We've updated the top 10 below to reflect this.
Original Story: We were expecting the Black Friday sales to see the resurgence of some older PlayStation 4 titles, but none have made it into the hallowed top 10. Games like FIFA 20, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order hold onto top positions while the rest of the list is dominated by Nintendo and Xbox titles.
Sony's Black Friday efforts did make a bit of a dent, though. While none quite made it into the top 10, there are a few that came close. Marvel's Spider-Man, with a 691 per cent improvement in sales, swings back up to number 13, while PSVR bundles see the likes of PlayStation VR Worlds, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, and Skyrim VR return to the top 20. Due to the number of returning games to the chart, Death Stranding tumbles yet further down the list. It's currently at number 33, and that's despite a sales increase week-on-week.
Here's the latest top 10.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 30th November, 2019
- FIFA 20
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Sea of Thieves
- Minecraft: Xbox Edition
- Pokémon Sword
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

- Luigi's Mansion 3
- Marvel's Spider-Man

Minecraft noooooooooo.
Was surprised not to see Days Gone have better discounts given it's been out some time now. Especially as it was knocked down significantly on the US PS store. £35 was quite a disappointment here.
@RogerRoger a sequel won't be the problem, the possibility of it having online live service and MTX next time though however is.
Would not surprise me that this was a test for EA and now that it succeeded they might be willing to risk adding MTX and online live service crap again because they think people will buy it anyway since the first 1 is such a hit.
Wow, a lot of Nintendo in there. And the power of Minecraft, gah! If Minecraft and GTAV had a baby then it would rule the world.
But the most surprising is Sea of Thieves. I don’t keep up with the Xbox exclusives very closely but I thought that had a really rough roll out. Maybe they patched it aggressively lately to account for its resurgence.
@Th3solution that's a shock to me, played it on a gamepass trial last week and it felt really clunky and didn't enjoy the relying on the multiplayer focus. If it was a single player game it could have been truly amazing but I guess Microsoft have live memberships to sell! Shame as Rare used to be my favourite.
@jdv95 @RogerRoger
I disagree. I think the reason there were no MTX's in this is because of the backlash in Battlefront 2. And that Disney probably told them not to overstep the mark again, don't forget they were supposedly going to have the licence taken off them so with Star Wars they're probably just not allowed to screw with it like that.
I think they would if they could. But their hands are tied here.
Barring Star Wars you can tell it's near Chrimbo with all these kids games. Trollolol.
Seems like it was a bit of a weak BF for PS4.
Xbox consoles had some very big discounts available, and Sea of Thieves was bundles with pretty much all of them, hence the high chart position.
MS were practically giving away the xb1 on BF, most of them bundled with sea of thieves and minecraft. i didn't really see that many discounts on PS4 specific games.. spiderman was £15, but is it not part of the playstation hits range now anyway?. days gone was £35.. compared to division 2 which came out around the same time and i saw for £17. ghost recon breakpoint was massively discounted as well, and didn't trouble the top 10. black friday on the whole, not just for games, was very underwhelming, it seemed quite half-hearted by a lot of retailers this year imo.
@GADG3Tx87 @RogerRoger - in which direction would you see a sequel go though?. you've already become pretty powerful by the end of the game, so i don't think the same premiss would work, without it feeling somewhat artificial. i thought the game was fine but not stellar, and story did improve after the first couple of planets, but for me there were a few gameplay frustations, so it's a one-and-done for me. there's a huge star wars universe ripe for picking for almost any game genre, it's whether EA has any studios that would do it justice.
@get2sammyb Which for me is surprising given this is PS4's last Black Friday as Sony's main console.
Was a bit of a damp squib for the PS4. Lots of games on here for the kids' Nintendo systems for Christmas and as MS seemed almost to be giving away the (unpopular, no you don't get a disc drive) XBox models, that explains some of the unusual titles showing up.
What?! Do you mean that my purchases (Spider-man, RDR2, Horizon ZD and Persona 5) were for nothing? Gah, ok. I'm going back to PS Store again to buy The Last Guardian and The Order 1886. I will even pick up a PSVR in a couple of days. Seriously! That'a what you get when someone buys into a console at the end of its lifecycle, I guess 😁
@PaperyWhiteBoy in the US I was able to pick up Days Gone for 20$ so I’m guessing it did a lot better here than the UK.
@leucocyte No, Spider-Man is not part of the Hits range yet. I imagine it will be soon, maybe when the next batch are announced.
@RogerRoger but now they know it's a hit they will add micros in to the next one 😂
Meh.. I hope outer world. Surge 2. Shenmu 3 death strang. Out wilders. GREEDFALL.. Should be in top 10 at least.. Glad starwar is
