Well this is pretty big news. Mortal Kombat 11 just got an update on PlayStation 4, and according to the patch notes available on the console itself, it adds crossplay to the popular fighter. Wait, what?
No, it's true. As pointed out by fighting game content creator Rooflemonger on Twitter, Mortal Kombat 11 patch 1.13 apparently adds crossplay functionality. In other words, you're going to be able to play the brawler online against players on other platforms. Either that, or it's some kind of huge mistake.
We'll update this story as soon as we know more, although we have a sneaking suspicion that this may be an announcement from The Game Awards leaked early.

Better together.
Oof, someone must've hit the button a few hours early! Great news though I wont ever play a MK games, the more big games that get down with cross play the better.
KOOOL! I hope this also means a way to see out specific players too, like if you have a buddy on a different platform you specifically wanna fight.
A step in the right direction if true.
