It's been a crazy week or two in video game land, hasn't it? Ubisoft pushed back its big upcoming games, The Last of Us: Part II was delayed, and WWE 2K20 became a social media laughing stock due to numerous bugs doing the rounds. Speaking of which, the messy wrestling game seems to have done okay regardless of its state, landing in third place on the UK chart. Whether the infamous glitches had any impact on sales is hard to say; according to GamesIndustry, physical sales are down 31 per cent compared to the last game, but this is a trend we're seeing across all franchises.
Anyway, topping the chart as expected is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, finally putting an end to the reign of FIFA 20. More new releases fill out the top five -- The Outer Worlds debuts in fourth place, which is a good result for a new property, while MediEvil rounds things off in fifth.
This fresh batch of new titles means some mainstays have been pushed out of the top 10. The likes of Borderlands 3 and Grand Theft Auto V are out, and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville take their places near the end of the bestsellers.

The Outer Worlds is the best game I've played this year and a game that embarrasses the recent efforts of AAA studios (except Capcom), Todd Howard should play this game and be ashamed of what he has let a certain series become.
From now on though this is a franchise that deserves to stand on it's own and create it's own path, much like you can when playing this wonderfully crafted and well written RPG. A world full of interesting characters, quests to discover and play out how you see fit with genuine role playing and everything included in one price
Medievil in top 5, nice
Nice to see Sir Dan in fifth, shame Concrete Genie didn't get so warm a welcome.
Hopefully Fortesque can fend at least another week in the top ten before Red Dead or GTA V rear their ugly heads again 😂
MediEvil did really well.
Great result for MediEvil ! I got my copy with a lovely steel-book but it'll be a christmas present so it's gone away for now, looking forward to playing it though, i enjoyed the demo
Outer Worlds is my goty right now. Just beautiful, fun and reshreshing. And runs like a top on my launch ps4
@Nyne11Tyme Good to know that it runs well on the base PS4! Thx!
seriously people can be total morons. Gaming compnaies wont bother change till you stop buying broken games every year. Outer worlds hardly any glitches and not a massive AAA big budget studio.
Good to see The Outer Worlds up there. I really hope it makes Obsidian a large profit because so far the game is great and bug free.
WWE glitchfest at number 3.
Whatever semblance of faith in humanity that I was clinging to now is gone.
Question: Do these sales charts include pre-orders? I can’t help wondering if WWE 2K20 benefitted from its core fan base who pre-order it every year. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t be shocked if it plummets out of the top ten next week.
Either way, I’m really happy to see The Outer Worlds and Medieval do so well.
@Shatter they must include pre-orders. Most physical games are paid for at launch anyway, not upon order.
Otherwise you'd see big titles in the chart ahead of launch- I'd bet Last of Us 2 has seen enough preorders to break the top 10 in recent weeks.
The Outer Worlds is fantastic...
