And to think we were worried about the Monster Hunter movie. New on-set images have appeared across the 'net, and it looks absolutely fine. As you can see from the pictures, the film's on course to being a faithful recreation of the video game series, right down to the UN soldiers, armoured vehicles, and automatic weapons.
It's great to see a Hollywood adaptation like this stick so rigidly to the source material, especially since fans of the franchise would probably flip out if, for some reason, it didn't look like Monster Hunter in the slightest.
Needless to say, we can't wait to sit down and give this a watch -- it's looking like another smash hit in a long line of incredible video game-based movies.

Absolutely no sarcasm around here at all. Move along now.
In all honesty though I am sat here having a chuckle.
Best game adaptation since Super Mario Bros, calling it now
Nice! The Witcher is looking better and better.
@ShogunRok
"Well done..."
All around me are familiar faces.
@Shogunrok Are a you serious here?
I looked at the source and you are. I'm speechless. I just don't know what to say. I just don't see know what they're thinking. Cat chefs could have made it the greatest movie of all time, but now it looks we get no cat chefs...
Looks fine to me as well. Anyone who doesn't recognise this as MH is just complaining for the sake of complaining. Or they're salty Nintendo fans who missed out on the best Monster Hunter game to date. I've been a Monster Hunter fan ever since its inception on the Dreamcast, cannot wait for this film!
Is this based on the 3DS or PS vita version? Looking awesomeness.
Did they also replace the monsters with terrorists to make it 100% Monster Hunter?
So that's what G Rank looks like. Never made it there myself...
Now this made my day. I love your sarcasm!
Come on it's a movie based on a video game. Why are we surprised it's going to have nothing to do with the game and be utter trash.
I want to smash this movie with my hammer.
It's almost like Milla Jovovich and Paul Anderson were both abused by video games early in life, found each other through a temporal connection based on this shared trauma and made it their life's work to revisit that abuse ten-fold on the world of video games.
Loving the sarcasm?! 😂😂 in all seriousness though, Anderson is so hit and miss with his films. Hopefully it's more Resident Evil (guilty pleasure) than Resident Evil: Final Chapter (less said the better). I mean I get his concept a group of soldiers pulled out of our world into the Monster Hunter world. It can work and aslong as this is only the first 5 to 10 mins of the film and it then hits the tone and look of the games (swapping the guns for big ass swords) then it could work. If not then why did he just not make an Evolve adaptation. Army guys vs monsters lol
An early contender for article of the week.
Remember Monster Hunter mission from Peace Walker?
They´re doing a live action about them
feel old yet?
@Tasuki the detective pikachu trailer that released today says hi.
This is a film about 2 soldiers called Paul Monster and James Hunter, set in a desert where they look for nuclear warheads but instead find an old man eating mushrooms with his brother in a cave 😂
Or maybe it's about some thirsty soldiers in the desert that are searching for energy drinks 😂
@supergurr lmao
Best article ever.
I’ve never understood the point of making a movie of something, if you’re not going to be faithful to the source material. Why not just make your own IP instead?
Can't wait to be told 'get over it nerd, it's a movie, it doesn't have to follow the games at all, they need to reach the mainstream audience.' Looks even worse than Resident Evil. At least I got some enjoyment out of a couple of those movies and there was some semblance of RE (even if it was very little) in there. This just looks bad.
Pokemon Detective Pikachu >> MH on Rotten Tomatoes. And everywhere else.
Calling it now.
MH fans should all just watch The Valley of the Gwangi instead, it will be closer to the game than this.
If you prefer caveman to cowboys, theres always Dinosaurus.
I can't believe Pokémon looks closer to its original source than Monster Hunter. Hollywood makes Monsters for a living, this should be marble cake.
@darkswabber One movie out of how many? Yeah you aren't convince me of anything
Will there be crafting?
@rjejr Or if they're too pressed for time for a feature-length film, there's always that episode of Star Trek where Kirk fights the Gorn. Still more faithful to the MH source material than this!

It's all ok, though. Anyone peeved about video game adaptations today should seriously just watch that Detective Pikachu trailer that released today. It's just... impossible to be mad after seeing it.
Haha! Oh dear. Wow push squaee just forced me to say more?!? Wth
@Fath "Arena" (the name of the episode w/ the Gorn, I'm a big trekkie geek) could work as well for any videogame adaption as this movie is working for MH fans.
Here's my comment from NL about the Pikachu movie.
OMG, I went into that so expecting to hate every thing about it, but I love it.
Of course in my head it's called "My Pet Deadpool" and it's all about how Deadpool gets turned into a cute furry creature by an evil mutant and nobody can understand him except this one other outcast mutant kid so they band together to hunt down the evil mutant who turned Deadpool into a cute adorable furry creature.
But seriously, watch the trailer like that, and if you've seen either of the two Deadpool movies it works a whole lot better.
Pop a couple of shrooms before hitting the theater and you're good to go, Deadpool 3.
@Tasuki Prince of Persia was good and kept to source material as needed.
@supergurr ha! That made me laugh.
I dunno, those clouds in the second picture really do scream "Ancestral Steppe" to me...
Even the movies can’t help but join the Battle Royale craze.
@Th3solution So now we have movies based on games that were based on a film? My head hurts
What on EARTH led to this from Moster Hunter..?
I honestly thought we’d, generationally, moved on by now. Who in movie production is old enough to still think that video games aren’t worthy of being faithfully done in a movie??
No comment...though I'll probably end up seeing this movie regardless.
I have watched the movie several times. Its an exactly like original game. Now one can watch all latest movies, TV shows for free on cinema app. Get it from https://cinemafreeapk.com/
