The brand new Kingdom Come: Deliverance had a very strong first week in the UK, but it's FIFA 18 that sits in the throne. Strong promotion of the Switch version saw a huge boost in sales - nearly 500%, according to Gamesindustry.biz. Kingdom Come had to settle for second place, then, but for a brand new IP that takes some creative risks, that's a very strong start.
Elsewhere, Shadow of the Colossus has fallen from the top spot into seventh, while Monster Hunter: World holds a respectable place in the top 10 at No.4. Further down the chart, the disappointing Dynasty Warriors 9 debuts at 13th, and the Secret of Mana remake misses out on the top 20, entering the chart at No.24.
Here's the top ten in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 17th February, 2018

- Grand Theft Auto V
- Monster Hunter: World
- Bayonetta 2
- EA Sports UFC 3
- Shadow of the Colossus

- Assassin's Creed Origins

really pleased that kingdom come is at number 2, not surprised that dynasty warriors did not make it into the top ten
That's excellent for a new ip from a non well-known developer. Here's hoping word of mouth helps the game and it doesn't disappear from the charts in a week or two.
And GTAV keeps on rolling ...
Sotc still on the chart is nice. I want to replay bayonetta 2 but not at $50
@Neolit eh, came out Friday and very limited physical stock on the shelves. These figures are silly without digital numbers.
Monster Hunter's doing great, managing to stick in the top 5 since launch is no easy task.
Wow, I didn't really expect that. Thought Kingdom Come would top.
I'm happy KCD is doing well. Especially considering the way the gaming media has attacked it and its creator.
@Neolit Sales for non-Nintendo developed games on Switch have been pretty decent for a while now. It's probably more down to limited stock. The UK is, like, one of the few markets Nintendo isn't wildly succeeding in, so initial stock is probably much lower.
the numbers are not likely to be particularly large for any of the titles, imo. even with a 500% increase for FIFA on NS, it still only managed 9th on the individual chart, compared to 2nd place on PS4 which is probably selling around 10K at this point. but 2nd (PS4), 9th (NS), and 17th (XB1) was enough for it to beat out KC:D on PS4 (1st) and XB1 (7th).
@Ralizah
Most of the reviews I have seen and been very positive for the game
@RogerRoger tough luck if you're in the UK. KFC has run out of chicken
@wiiware although if it was released on PS4 would you pay up?
@Derpie1 Nope, sony did a full remake of shadow of the colossus and sold it for $40, plus they give me 20% discount code on email (so I bought sotc only $32). Nintendo sold bayonetta 2, a port of 4 year old game (not a remake), for $50
@YummyHappyPills Already have bayo 1 on xbox 360, and I already finish it on wii u, I don't want to play bayo 1 again. And buying it on steam when its discounted will be cheaper.
While bayo 2 is 10/10 game for me, bayo 1 is just 7/10. Bayo 1 is a good game, but finishing it once is enough for me.
@wiiware why are you hiding the fact that it includes bayonetta 1?
@wiiware then buy it digitally. You can get them separate that way. Physical you get both.
@faint I don't want to spend $50 for a 4 yeard old port, not when sony release full remake of shadow of the colossus at $40. It doesn't matter if it's digital or physical.
@YummyHappyPills I heard fifa switch is discounted more than ps4 and xbox1 version. I think it should be cheaper from the beginning because fifa switch didn't have story mode.
@manu0 Huh? There's no hiding the fact. I want to buy bayonetta 2, but it's $50 on eshop, $50 is for bayonetta 2 only, not including bayonetta1. If you want bayo 1 and 2 you can buy the physical version, which is $60, which is ridiculous for a 4 years old game.
And to add insult to injury, nintendo itself is too cheap to pony up for a big cartridge and put bayo 1 on download code
@wiiware did you buy last of us new at full price when the ps4 launched?
