We're so used to seeing big open world games get lumbered with large day one updates that we just assumed Horizon: Zero Dawn would find itself in the same situation - but it looks like that won't be the case.
Posting on Twitter, developer Guerrilla Games has confirmed that the upcoming exclusive will indeed have a patch available at launch, but it'll only be 250MB in size. The studio says that we can expect patch notes "as soon as the game has launched" - it'll be interesting to see what this relatively small download includes.

Good. That's the way it should be.
Small update, no Day 1 DLC, what's wrong with these people, don't they know it's 2017 and playing a game isn't supposed to be easy but an award winning accomplishment? They're making the rest of the industry look bad, they'll soon be getting death threats on Twitter, from other devs.
@rjejr I can already see the twitter threats from Miyamoto and Co. for not locking a difficulty and PS4 Pro in game tshirt behind a $20 paywall hahahaha
Will this have a review on 20-Feb?
Sounds like they got it right the first time.
Awesome. I was getting tired of seeing how big these patches are.
Will people who preordered digitally be able to pre-install the update?
@RedMageLanakyn "PS4 Pro in game tshirt"
They need a PSVR DLC headset she uses as binoculars. Maybe w/ thermal vision.
@rjejr Not gonna lie, that would be great. Maybe looking through them for too long would make you nauseous too
Let's hope this means game fully functional with less glitches and sudden crashes!
Any day one patch is too much though, no matter how small.
Used to be a time when games were actually shipped in working order, without dlc crap or patches .
@RedMageLanakyn "would make you nauseous too"
Yeah, after 30 seconds of FPS view it would cut back to 3rd person and you would see a woozy Aloy fall on her behind and comment "OK, enough of that."
