Unsure of whether Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will offer a meaningful upgrade? You'll be able to sample the Warzone section from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves for yourself starting from 29th September, as Naughty Dog has promised to drop a demo of the PlayStation 4 upgrade onto the PlayStation Store. The full compilation's due out on 9th October, so that should give you ample time to make up your mind.
Still, if you can't wait that long, the developer's deployed 10 minutes of footage from the remastered version of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. This includes the car chase sequence, which was one of the most memorable moments from Nate's inaugural escapade. The character models are clearly better, but we reckon that the animations are starting to show their age in this 2007 outing. Even the writing hits a slightly different tone to what we're used to from Naughty Dog these days.
Nevertheless, it's all running in 1080p at a silky smooth 60 frames-per-second, which is good enough for us. You'll be able to vote for the next Uncharted Moment that you want to be revealed before release, with the Cargo Plane from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception one of your options. This should be fun I've actually never played uncharted so I'm looking forward to this.
The animations are definitely showing their age now. Still can't wait to get my hands on it though.
Looking forward to this as after play the last of us I feel I need to give uncharted a try. Might have to wait till the new year mind, busy, expensive time!
I caved and pre-ordered it. I wasn't going to since I have them on PS3 but it really looks like it won't be a lazy port. I played Uncharted: GA recently on Vita and got the itch to play the series again.
I actually wish GA was getting the same treatment.
They've obviously chosen Uncharted 2 as the demo since its easily the best thus far. Don't get me wrong, I love them all, including the Vita version, but Uncharted 2 is a game I couldn't get out of my head until I saw the credits role at the end.
In my opinion Uncharted 2 is one of the best games of last gen and I have a feeling Uncharted 4 will be the same this gen. Uncharted 4 also has the original lead devs from Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us.
I will eventually add this amazing collection to my PS4, but not this year. All im interested in this year is Fallout 4 and SOMA. Besides, I already own all of the Uncharted games so im not in a rush.
I do wish I could play them for the first time on PS4. Being able to play the first 3 games without having to wait and, in 1080p at 60fps. Im a little jealous hahaha
@wittypixel Im surprised you've never played any of them mate. If you played the latest Tomb Raider and enjoyed it you will love these.
Like I always say, for a 2007 game this still looks and plays really well. I can see they updated the character models ever so slightly (nates face and hair in particular) and made the explosions look better. Happy to see at least some effort went into this port
As long as the textures in Drake's Fortune don't blank out a bit like they did before, I'll be happy.
Speaking of, I started playing Drake's Fortune on crushing a few days ago, and yeesh it's brutal. Already past 50 deaths and I'm only around part 6.

@wittypixel Oh well. You're in for a treat. Well, thats if you like adventure games. Not sure how much you will like the first Uncharted as its pretty old now but, Uncharted 2 im sure you will really enjoy. Uncharted 1 was a good game, but the difference between that and Uncharted 2 is night and day. Uncharted 2 is more in line with what we've seen in Uncharted 4 so far.
Uncharted 3 is really good too, but they didn't raise the bar any higher than they did for the second iteration.
Regardless of which one is the best, Uncharted is a great series and definitely deserving of a remaster and the asking price. If you decide to get the boxset on release I hope you have as much fun with the series as I have. It will also be interesting to hear your opinion once you've finished them.
