Uncharted 4's crazy E3 2015 demo left us with a set of slack jaws, thanks mostly to that mental jeep sequence. We reckon it's good news, then, that the offroader will be making plenty more appearances.
"You actually see it earlier in the game," game director Bruce Straley told GamesRadar. "You get used to all the controls [in] much larger environments than this – you can play with the jeep." You'll need to if you want to get past certain areas "that you can't necessarily traverse through on foot," Straley explained.
Don't worry about an excessive amount of vehicle sections, though: "We're going wide when we want to, [and] we're going to narrow it down when the story calls for it. It's all about pacing," he reassured. "We look at our needs. What do we need to get out of this? What do we need to say about the characters? How do we use the tools in our kit? You have to find your way, to use these tools you have, like the rope, the piton, the jeep. The jeep you can get in and out of throughout these 'explore areas'."
"Because of the PS4, we do not have the constraints with memory that we had in the past," creative director Neil Druckmann admitted. "Right now, [this] feels like the biggest Uncharted we've ever made."

Well, I should hope so!
Getting around big open worlds in Jeep's, Batmobile's, horses, etc. will be this generation's legacy.
Believe in Naughty Dog
After playing Arkham Knight this fills me more with dread then joy, as long as they apply it very carefully it should be fine though I hope.
Well, I'm glad to hear that there won't be too much of that jeep. Crash 3 had a lot of vehicles, I've heard complaints of Jak 3 having a bit too much of driving, I'd rather not see ND go into a weird vehicle habit so I find that reassuring.
"Uncharted 4: we've made you talk about it for 24 months, now sit back and relax for 8 hours while we play the game for you"
Probably won't be used by marketing, but it would sure be fitting!
Yes, the jeep has always been in Uncharted games. Elena seems to love them. Don't overdo it and we will be ok.
Not a wise move just look at all the complaint's about the Batmobile, & yet that too was easy to use.
The difference with the jeep in previous Uncharted games and this is that this time its drivable as opposed to some on-rails sequence. I that 15min video, less than a third of it was actually driving. No doubt it will be used on occasion - no doubt as much (maybe a little more) as we have seen before but I would rather feel like I am controlling the sequence rather than a scripted on rails chase and shoot out!
I doubt very much that this game will focus on the jeep and driving instead of the story, the set-pieces and of course the treasure. In the 2 main video's there has been very little of the jeep and doubt its involved much in the mountain sequence we saw.I hope there is more than just that one sequence but doubt it will be overused - this is Naughty Dog!
I'll trust Naughty Dog not to f this up. But I also trusted Rocksteady not to screw up the Batmobile. Granted I think ND is a better studio but anybody can have a misstep.
I have said it before and will say it again. ND has yet to let me down and in-till they do I will trust them.
As long as it doesn't require me to kill drone/tanks in it I'm cool. XD
