Problem solved

There's been a horrible bug spreading across the UK and Europe for a few days now which has caused gamers to lose access to their PlayStation Plus subscriptions. Not only is this scary – especially if you've just stumped up for another 12 months of service – but it's also been blocking many gamers from playing online or even accessing their digital games. Dark times.

We reported recently that Sony had escalated the issue to its PlayStation Network team, and that it had tracked the problem back to the PlayStation Now beta. Fortunately, it's now issued a fix which should solve the problem, and prevent it from happening again. Of course, if you're still locked out, there's a simple way to reclaim access to your account.

All you need to do is go to the PlayStation Store and download a free demo. This can be for any game, and you might need to retry a couple of times, but once the transaction's gone through, you should have access to your profile again. If you're still having problems, you can always try restoring your licenses in the Settings menu, but you shouldn't need to go this far.
