Awesome!!!! Must buy
I just woke up at 6am to see this. It was worth it! Now all I need is a release date
Oh my Gooooooood!
i just hope it releases in europe this year
Really enjoyed the trailer. I think you can tell it's a cross-gen game from the gameplay bits, but the artstyle is ace. I love the music. I'm getting a bit of an old-school James Bond vibe from some of the presentation.
Really cool.
Still not feeling it. Considering P4 was a step back for the series, I'm remaining as skeptical as possible for this one. The mainstream press hyping it as something of a revelatation to Jrpg's when it just looks like a muted Persona 4 is worth a plethora of chuckles tho
@MadchesterManc I'm far from a JRPG connoisseur as y'all know, but this is definitely brimming with style. I think sometimes you need games like this and Final Fantasy XV that appeal to a wider demographic, as it may actually open eyes to some of the nicher games.
Awesome. Another great exclusive for the PlayStation Nation. I just wish it wasn't on last gen, it doesn't look good visually.
i love the art style. i hate to admit it but i havent played a persona game yet. but this looks awesome. arent they usually on portables though?
@3dcaleb released on home console then a portable port
@3dcaleb My understanding is that they usuall get ported from home consoles. Persona 4 was obviously a PS2 game before Vita, for example.
That cover system was nuts! What's even going on there?
Sooooo excited!!! I need this game now!
Yes yes yes yes, I can't wait to play this.
Ahhhhh exciiiiiiite!!!!! So many questions!!
Looks SO cool! Are they like servers of justice or something? Lots of questions! Looks like what they learned from the Catherine graphic system will be optimised here. And - guns are back! That's some deep roots there.
Looking forward to the exploits of The Phantom. Got stupidly excited 1:18 in when I thought the bar was the Stray Sheep for a split second but alas. The style has a very Catherine feel to it actually, even more so than other Persona titles.
With the utter mess Sega are currently in though I'm not holding up much hope for seeing this over here any time soon. Persona has a dedicated fanbase outside of Japan but it's not exactly going to fly off the shelves is it? Sega need pennies and Persona 5 just won't bring them sadly.
@rastamadeus I think they confirmed that it's coming to North America at the same time as Japan. If Sony's got any sense, they'll be helping get it out globally if SEGA's dragging its feet.
Hot damn!
@get2sammyb Key words: "If Sony's got any sense." Sadly they seem to make choices almost as baffling as Nintendo in the '90s at times. Hopefully it comes this year I just don't think Sega in their current position will care enough. If Sony step in Sega don't get anywhere near as much money and Sammy Holdings won't allow that. Japanese copy for me, barring any region-locking like with P4A.
So they're pretty much a japanese superhero trio, I like it. What little gameplay they showed looked A-mazing.
Just wondered about something - I wonder how long I have to wait since I'm from eu. Atlus is tricky deal over here occasionally.
@get2sammyb Atlus always drags its feet with EU releases so I wouldn't hold your breath.
@Jazzer94 atleast theres no region locking but maybe nipon ichi software will localize it we got persona q a week after the american launch i think
I don't know - Persona q and arenas were okay in their releases. How long did persona 3 portable take to come? That's what got me not megaten in general.
I'm patient though - it paid off when smt IV came
Maybe nis America/ or ghostlight can help again?
@Spade_the_prinny @Jazzer94 True, but as long as it comes out in the US, we should all be good to go with import copies!
You're mad if you think this won't come West — it's already been confirmed for one thing. It's more a question of 'when'.
I want this, like, now. Right now. The presentation is absolutely fantastic! And as for people complaining about the graphics, I personally thought it looked pretty good
Totally agree with @ShogunRok though, it's definitely going to make it West. Atlus have a pretty good history of getting the Persona games over here in one way or another!
I JUST noticed that the enemies the party were facing are Sandman. Sort of back to roots? Seeing as you can wield guns again.
One of the better trailers I've seen in ages; the art direction is truly wonderful and the vibe I'm getting is so good. The feeling I had coming out of last TGS is once again here, it just seems like these Japanese devs are back and actually realize what it means to develop games in this decade. It's not just P5; there are a lot of Japanse games coming where I'm really looking forward too and that's been a while quite frankly.
wipes drool off face
READY.
I don't think anyone said it wouldn't come to the west. We all know it will, just I wouldn't hold out hope for this year.
Dang, this game has some style to it for sure. I haven't played Persona since P4 first released, so I'm really excited to get this one.
@Swiket Very nice.

Looks gorgeous!
@get2sammyb
Well said. I used to despise turn based games, strategy games, and RPG's of any stripe or color. It wasn't until I played a game called Fire Emblem Awakening that I realized how fun they could be (a game which was made to appeal to a wider audience, though it was still pretty hardcore). It was that game that made me afterward think twice about the FFX remake, which I then ended up playing and loving, and I've since gone on to play at least 2 dozen or so RPG's and turn based games, something I never would have foreseen happening just 2 years ago.
Gateway games are necessary to bring new gamers into the fold.
@JaxonH I'm right there with you. I was never into JRPG's until I got a Vita. I looked up highest rated Vita games because I didn't have any. I went to Gamestop and bought a game I had never heard of until then, Persona 4 Golden. The box art made me wonder why I was buying it, but after I started playing it I couldn't put it down. Since then I've played over 2 dozen JRPG's and I have more in my backlog. They're awesome!
@Cowboysfan-22
Persona 4 Vita was also one of the ones I played since. It's a matter of perspective really. I have a friend at work who is more an intermediate gamer, bought a PS4 for big name games but after hearing me talk about games all the time, got a Wii U and cheap 3DS the other day too. I'm trying to convince him to play some RPG's, but he has a bad taste in his mouth from trying an old Final Fantasy years ago. I'm like, dude, you're gonna have access to Final Fantasy 15 AND Xenoblade X AND Fire Emblem AND Persona 5, and not play any of them!!???
Oh it makes me pull my hair out lol. I'll get him. He'll turn to the dark side eventually
Okay, now I'm interested. This looks great.
It's like my grandma told me on her deathbed, "you gotta get that s**t!!!"
Throws money at the screen I need this now!
That was so incredible... omg
So pumped! Luckily I still have to finish up Persona Q then play 3 and 4 so those should hold me over until 5 quite well! Still beyond pumped for 5 though! Persona is one of my new favorite game series!
The gameplay in this series is just not for me but I love watching the playthroughs. Seems like a winner for JRPG fans, which is good since SE has been crapping the bed for a long time now.
SO MUCH WANT!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't seen the trailer yet or played any of the other Persona or SMG games before, but this is definitely on my future PS4 game wish list.
I just hope the english version doesnt take forever to release.
@ToddlerNaruto It's SMT ;D But yeah, you're in for a treat.
@B3ND3R lol thanks for the two week old edit .
@ToddlerNaruto You are very welcome ;D
@B3ND3R Heh xD In all srsness though, will it matter much if I play Persona 4 first before 1-3?
