Until Dawn PS4

Well, we all knew that ex-PlayStation Move exclusive Until Dawn was coming to the PlayStation 4 – but it looks like Supermassive Games has really invested that extra time into creating some impressive character models. While the title’s re-reveal trailer definitely has the same spirit as the original, it looks ridiculously good these days.

The premise is still the same: you play as a group of eight friends who, somewhat stupidly, decide to engage in a teenage angst session at a remote mountain getaway. The story’s been penned by horror veterans Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick, who are known for a slew of popular independent horror flicks. Expect a little bit of that originally promised B-movie vibe, then.

The writers aren't the only big names, though, as the cast includes Hayden Panettiere of Heroes fame, as well as Rami Malek from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. Of course, how will it all play? Well, unsurprisingly the PlayStation Move has been tossed out, so you’ll experience the action using the DualShock 4. The biggest tweak here is that it’s now a third-person title, as opposed to first-person.

And how does it look so pretty? Well, it’s running on an updated version of the Killzone: Shadow Fall engine, which makes sense considering that the original was built with Killzone 3’s technology in mind. The game’s not due out until next year, but it will be on display at Gamescom 2014 all this week, so sit tight for more spooky details.
