Blood on your hands

As we’ve already established, The Last of Us Remastered is not your ordinary re-release. Not only has the port been handled internally by award-winning developer Naughty Dog, but it’s also arguably the most important PlayStation 4 exclusive of the year. As such, it’s no surprise to see the studio commit to even more add-on packs throughout 2014.

According to some slides snapped by a Spanish journalist, additional content will be deployed later in the year. It’s unclear whether this will include single player or multiplayer extras, but we’re guessing that more perks and weapons for the surprisingly solid online component is the most likely. Honestly, though, we wouldn’t mind some kind of solo survival arena.

The slides also reiterate that the title will run at 60 frames-per-second in 1080p, but there will be an option to lock it at 30 frames-per-second if you prefer the ‘feel’ of the PlayStation 3 version. Apparently, texture maps have been boosted by four times, while particle effects have also been enhanced. Meanwhile, the DualShock 4’s light bar, speaker, and touchpad will have a part to play.

It's certainly shaping up to be a seriously complete package, which we suspect is going to sell like gangbusters when it deploys later this month. Sony appears to be committed to putting some serious marketing muscle behind it, too, as evidenced by last night’s television commercial.
