Trials Fusion

RedLynx’s motorcycle franchise may have made its name on Microsoft platforms, but the latest entry in the property will have a slight visual edge on the PlayStation 4. Despite being the first title in the series to appear on a Sony system, the Finnish studio has confirmed that Trials Fusion will run at 1080p on the Japanese giant’s device, compared to just 900p on the Redmond-based manufacturer’s machine. Both versions will operate at 60 frames-per-second.

This disparity has, of course, been a common story for much of the generation thus far, with the meatier innards of Mark Cerny’s creation giving it the edge in the majority of multiformat face-offs. Call of Duty: Ghosts, for example, also ran at a much higher resolution on the PlayStation maker’s hardware, while Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition performed at double the framerate of its Xbox One counterpart.

As always, there’s a good chance that the average person won’t be able to tell the difference in this instance, and subsequently, we can't help but wonder whether it even matters at all. Still, at least if you were planning to get the PS4 edition, then you can rest safe in the knowledge that you'll almost certainly be riding away with the best version of the game. Personally, we’re just pleased to see the brand on PlayStation at last.
