Not content with smashing virtually every record in the book, Grand Theft Auto V has already surpassed its predecessor’s lifetime sales in the UK – after just three weeks on the market. Games Industry.biz reports that the shady masterpiece is now the region’s 12th best selling title of all time, and is showing no signs of slowing down before Christmas.

In fact, in terms of pure revenue, Rockstar Games’ criminal opus is now the fifth biggest release ever behind four Call of Duty titles from Activision. It strikes us that Michael, Franklin, and Trevor had it wrong all along – you don’t need to be a bank robber to earn some serious paper, you just need to make a game about them. Duh.
