Semaphore’s obvious homage to the Uncharted franchise Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta will fire onto the PlayStation Network on 29th May, the developer has announced. The episodic title – which puts you in the boots of Faris Jawad – promises to send you on an expedition throughout the Middle East on the trail of a famous Muslim explorer.
The title will feature a “unique mix of platforming, melee fighting, shooting, and stealth gameplay”. It will also include optional PlayStation Move support. There’s no word on a price just yet, but we’re guessing that it won’t break the bank. On the one hand, it’s nice to see a Middle Eastern studio take a shot at such an ambitious project – but this does look a lot like a budget Uncharted, doesn’t it?

"but this does look a lot like a budget Uncharted, doesn’t it?"- yup.
Looks like a Tomb Raider clone to me. Oh wait...
Budget or not, I liked those opening credits a lot. Too bad the one photo looks like a PS2 game.
It'd be nice if they got someone to say "Ibn Battuta" right :<
But hey, between this and Torkaizer, the Arabs are on a roll I just wish they'd stop squandering their wealth on vanity while their own people (and fellow neighbors) starve and are murdered off in the various wars.
Well, this could be interesting. But part of me is just wishing its story was being used in an ACTUAL Uncharted game.
Hi Sammy,
Thank you so much for shedding the light on this. The game is episodic and it is priced at $9.99 per episode for PC/Mac/PS3 and $4.99 for iOS/Android.
It is true we take a lot of inspiration from Uncharted but that is because it is a well crafted game that we are die hard fans of, and we aim to present an authentic experience and differentiate it with our own spin and that will show up clearly in future episodes. The first episode aims mainly to build the core gameplay elements you come to expect from this genre like agility and the cover system.
By the way, the game supports optional Playstation Move controls, has an unlockable Survival Mode and is available in 21 languages for menus and subtitles.
@semaphore Wow, 21 languages is impressive!
Are Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Arabic a part of those languages? Just curious :3
I will probably enjoy this since I live Uncharted so much, yes indeed it does look like a budget Uncharted. Hopefully the unique spin will diferate this enough enough from Uncharted to keep from feeling like a cheap clone.
@semaphore Two questions, is the survival mode singleplayer? And is the melee push square to take out the enemy, or is it more complex?
@neumaus Yes, all the languages you mentioned are included. For the full list check out this link:

@Jaz007 The survival mode is indeed single player currently, we will aim to add more features to it in upcoming episodes.
For melee we have two styles, one is for "Takedowns" where you are close to an enemy in an engaged mode or a stealth mode and you take them down quickly. The other is a full one on one fight with punches, kicks, blocks and takedowns.
I hope there is a demo.
