It’s starting to seem like our criticism of the PlayStation Vita may have been a touch premature. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s senior business development manager Shahid Kamal Ahmad recently teased an “amazing” title for the format, and now Game Informer executive editor Andrew Reiner has hinted that the system may have a “surprisingly” large presence at next month’s E3.
“Sounds like Vita may have a surprisingly big show at E3,” he teased. Asked for clarification, the journalist added that he’s looking forward to trying a “fair number of games” on the console, including the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.
It’s unclear whether Reiner is privy to any behind-the-scenes information, but it does seem like Sony is gearing up for another wave of Vita announcements. Earlier today it released a teaser trailer for a new Japan Studio developed title named Panopticon, which, despite not having any platforms attached to it yet, seems like it will probably be for the portable. Are there any games in particular that you’re hoping to see at E3? Let us know in the comments section below.

I hope it gets proper showtime this year, they almost ignored it completely in E3 2012.
Saw this on gaf best comment EVER! lol
here we go again, why must they taunt Vita owners. Why cant we just know whats coming like everybody else, how come we gotta get blindfolded before we have sex
@MrSRArter Personally, I'd settle for two conferences. Let PS4/PS3 dominate the "big conference", and then do a second one for Vita. I think that makes sense.
Personally, I'd prefer them to stop pushing PS3 so much.
They need to put the Vita out there first, that way it has all eyes on it and it has the added bonus of prolonging the PS4 portion of their showing.

Sammy dont need to mention me ^^ Im just glad you shared it. For me this is a signal that sony listened . That new game is the proof ^^
They should at least spend as much time on Vita this year as Wonderbook last year. And please, no Wonderbook 2.
I cant imagine they'll need to spend too much time on PS3 as we already know about Last of Us and Beyond Two Souls and GT6, and Ubisoft will cover Watch_Dogs and AC4 and Rayman Legends, EA will cover their big games, and GTA5 and Destiny can cover themselves. How many more big games does the PS3 need to have unveiled this year?
I know I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment but I haven't given up on GTA: San Andreas Stories yet. Bioshock, Syphon Filter, or a Vita exclusive Metal Gear Solid would be cool too but I'm guessing it will be some Final Fantasy crap instead.
@Snorky
I agree it's actually very annoying that they continue to focus so much on PS3, imo. It's a great console, my favorite of this gen, it's also in it's freakin' 7th or 8th year on the market, people know about it and aside from a very select few those who want it already own one. And for the first year, maybe longer, it will be the biggest detriment to PS4, even more than Wii U or the next Xbox, there's absolutely no good reason it should be getting Gran Turismo 6 over PS4 and worse I have a feeling the dumba$$es calling the shots at Sony will announce more should-be PS4 (and Vita) games for the last gen machine. The PSP wasn't the only reason Vita struggled early on in Japan where it had the best chance, but it sure as hell didn't help. MS was taken to task for dropping Xbox so quick for 360 yet in the end the 360 helped steal a ton of marketshare from Sony. Bottomline, sticking to the past rather than moving on is never good. By the time Sony realizes this most people will have bought a Wii U or next Xbox and for normal people there's usually no looking back after you make your choice.
@Gamer83 You're being incredibly short sighted. PS4 won't sell to ANYONE other than the hardcore in the first year to two so what they are doing supporting PS3 is excellent from a business point of view. If Microsoft don't do the same they will be in a bigger mess than the Wii U is. Bottomline is there is no first party franchise that will be good enough to convince casual gamers to adopt to the new console. Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Sly, etc are all great games (well, maybe not GT in my eyes) but they're no COD, FIFA, Assassin's Creed or even Mario Kart or GTA, sales-wise. Until those games go exclusively next gen (bar MK, natch) then casuals will have no need to buy a PS4/720. You may be getting a PS4 day one but Joe Public won't. EA, Ubisoft and Activision know their biggest games will sell best on current gen machines this year and next so will release them for both gens, anything they make on PS4/720 will be a bonus to them. You may not like Sony's plan but it is the BEST plan they could have, like it or lump it.
At last years Nintendo E3 conference they showed nothing (or very little) of the 3DS as they were doing a special conference/Nintendo Direct focusing solely on their handheld. Sony should do the same. Quick montage video at the conference then have a special Vita-only one.
On a completely unrelated topic: Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories' is ****ing sensational.
We'll see how sound that strategy is when Sony spends the generation in third again and third party companies go right back to MS with definitive versions of their big games. There is no point in bringing out a new system if you don't plan to support it. That's been a big problem for the Vita as well. Outside of Japan Studios, Sony's A teams act like Vita doesn't even exist.
I'm with @Gamer83
GT6 would have made some people buy a ps4 and that's what the ps4 needs. Momentum. Part of the reason Wii sold so well was the the hype, the word of mouth, the shortages. The hardcore gamers who'll buy a ps4 with no games available simply aren't enough. They need to also target the undecided and avoid a WiiU failure, which seems quite likely.
God of war, beyond, Gt6 and even Sly or Puppeteer should have been ps4 launch titles.
Imagine if Nintendo had not released Mario U for the Wii U or worse released a Mario platformer or Mario Kart for Wii just as the U was launching. That would've been idiotic. MS I can guarantee will not be announcing and releasing Halo 5 this year for 360 because it would be idiotic. Is GT a system-seller like those franchises? No, but it is a big name and Sony's top selling franchise, you don't take your biggest gun and release the latest entry for the current system the same year you have a new one coming. You espeially don't do it the same time of year the new system launches. On top of that MS has a console coming this year as well so the hardcore will have two new machines to choose from. Which one will most people go with? The one from the company set to move on or the one from the company stuck in the past? MS has a great chance to grab the early momentum and as last gen showed, when Wii destroyed PS3 out of the gate, that carries over. The same mistakes made with PS3's and Vita's earliest days are being repeated. This article shows that Sony may finally be getting it with Vita but it's too late to compete with 3DS and it may not even do half the business PSP did. PS4 is facing the same thing and the reason I don't like it is because the next step for PlayStation if there is another disaster is out the door. The big wigs will not put up with repeated failure.
@Gamer83 Once again your using your own blinkered view rather than looking at the bigger picture. Sony has NO games to make causal gamers adopt. The games that will make them are COD, FIFA, Madden and Assassin's Creed. Those four titles are coming out on this gen machines as well as next gen ones and causal gamers will buy them for the machines they currently own. The same thing will happen next year as BOTH next gen machines will stutter as casuals won't adopt and then the big four will launch for both gens again. Throughout the year both the PS4 and 720 will be steadily picking up sales but until they hit good enough numbers those four games will NOT go next gen only. Until they do the causal gamers won't.
Your view that hardcore gamers will adopt the 720 is also odd. How many hardcore gamers actually have a 360? They mainly have a PS3 and/or Wii. 360 has succeeded thanks to FPS fans alone and that is what 720 will play for once more.
You need to stop looking at this as what you think is going on and look at it from a business point of view and it makes excellent sense. Brand new shiny console for the early adopters with "better" (visually anyway) versions of games that will entice some casuals while the PS3 gets loads of sales thanks to the big four but all the while sales are picking up convincing developers to switch to PS4. While this happens 720 will struggle even more than the Wii U as Microsoft WON'T be supporting their only machine that will still be picking up good sales, the 360. You may not like it - and can complain all you like - buy business-wise it is the right way to go and makes complete sense. Won't bother explaining this again as been doing it for almost four months now and some people (not having a go at you!) just don't want to see sense, preparing to whine about how they don't think it's right so no-one does.
I'm really interested in a Vita and it's games like Uncharted GA, Tearaway, and Wipeout. All I need is 50% price drop on memory card and a 50 dollar Vita price drop. Come on Sony! I want to give you my money!
