Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 sold an outrageous 1 million copies in 24 hours at US retailer GameStop. Company president Tony Bartel revealed the number to Bloomberg Businessweek, adding that it was the outlet’s largest launch of all time. Amazon echoed the executive’s comments, noting that the first-person shooter was the most pre-ordered title in the digital retailer’s history.

The comments follow in the footsteps of Blockbuster UK claiming that it sold 10,000 copies of the sequel in five minutes across its 450 British stores. We should get the full first-week figures in the coming days, but our advice would be not to bet against black.
