Nemesis in Resident Evil 3 remake

How do you defeat Nemesis in the first encounter? How do you return to the Subway Station? We'll find out in part four of our Resident Evil 3 remake walkthrough for PS4 along with How to get to the Subway Platform.

How to Defeat Nemesis (First Encounter)

Resident Evil 3's first boss battle is a fairly simple one. Nemesis comes equipped with a flamethrower that spreads far-reaching flames across the arena, and this is its main attack for the first phase of the fight.

Stay out of its range at all times and begin targetting the fuel tank on its back. Repeatedly attack it with your Grenade Launcher and Shotgun until it is destroyed.

Once the fuel tank blows up, Nemesis will use the remains of its flamethrower as a melee weapon. The Tyrant becomes much more aggressive during the second phase, taking huge swings at you which deal a lot of damage.

Again, keep your distance and pluck away at its health with your stronger weapons. Before too long, you'll have it downed with ammo and herbs providing support around the arena should you run out of supplies.

Return to the Subway Station

Once the cutscene is over and Carlos has called you on the radio, collect the Handgun Ammo on the bonnet of the brown car and climb the yellow steps attached to the fire engine.

In the next street, you'll find yourself in a familiar scene. It's the same street that Leon S. Kennedy used to escape the Raccoon Police Department in Resident Evil 2.

You can head down to the car park, falling just short of the barrier to find some High-Grade Gunpowder (see also: All Ammo Crafting Combinations) in a white briefcase, but our main objective lies within Gun Shop Kendo.

Enter the shop and you'll find a Green Herb (see also: All Herb Combinations and Their Effects), Explosive B, Explosive A, Handgun Ammo, and even a Semi-Auto Barrel upgrade for the Shotgun. Grab them all and proceed to the back of the building for a cutscene.

Kendo makes an appearance in Resident Evil 3 remake

Grab Kendo's Gate Key from the white cabinet on the wall and use it on the locked gate outside. Head down the alley and through the house, killing zombies as you go, but before you leave the homely abode you enter, head up the stairs. In there is a yellow padlock that can be opened with your Lock Pick.

You'll get some Explosive Rounds for your Grenade Launcher as a reward.

Exit the house and unfortunately, Nemesis will be back on your tail — this time equipped with a Rocket Launcher of all things.

Once again, run away from the Tyrant while avoiding the aiming reticule of its new weapon. A couple of quick cutscenes will pass you by before needing to head up some scaffolding.

You'll find yourself back in the original playable Raccoon City area, so once again follow the linear path put in front of you.

Nemesis has a few of his own toys though

Escape Nemesis (Again)

Head down the stairs with the Jim's Crabs sign directly in front of you and begin heading back to the main street. Rather comedically, the head of the Toy Uncle Superstore will be destroyed and come tumbling after you.

Here, simply head back the way you just came until the structure has passed — leaving you with a straight route back to the Subway Station.

Carlos will direct you towards the petrol station, at which point a cutscene takes over and blows the place up.

Go to the Subway Platform

This part of the game is very linear and self-explanatory, simply follow Carlos to the Subway Platform before a cutscene completes this section of the game.

That brings us to the end of part four of our Resident Evil 3 remake walkthrough, to continue from here you need part five: Find Dr. Bard, Break the Shower Room Wall, Exit The Subway Tunnel
