OK, so I got an old plastation console off of eBay, (I searced up ps1 on eBay and it came up, but when I typed in ps1 on google it showed a console with HDMI and USB, which the console I got doesn't have. I turned it on and a background with grey squares came up. There were 2 options: one looked like it had musical notes on it, and the other was the playstation memory card. I went on both of them, but I had no idea what any of it meant. I just want to play Tenchu stealth assasins but I don't know how. If you do know, please tell me and thanks.
@oldps1restorer Well I guess you can order a new PS1 and replace the disc drive with the other one, but you may as well use the new one. They're not that expensive. But I've never used eBay before, it always seems a bit shady to me. I suggest looking for a dedicated online retro store, because then you can be guaranteed it works.
But it can also be the game itself. Have you tried other games?
@Octane No, I just have the one game. I recently checked the eBay item's description and it said the disk didn't spin and some other problems. I bought it to try and fix it, but I forgot about that issue. I'll buy a disk drive and repair it, which works for me because I like fixing things. I'll come back if replacing the disk drive doesn't work. Thanks!
Just place the disk in there. If it doesn't work, then maybe the disk reader is already broken. If you really want it to work, I think you might need to have it repaired, I just don't know if that will be expensive.
