Topic: Does turning a PS Vita off, but leaving a game running paused, harmful to a Vita system?

I got my Vita about maybe 6 months ago, and purchased and just started playing Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. I've been busy, so while your character is talking to that officer in the town at the start, I just left it there and turned the system off. I check once in a while if it needs recharging, and sometimes it does, but it may be my imagination, but it seems like it takes longer for it to turn on when you press the on button. Am I damaging my PS Vita doing this? Please LMK.

Considering I’ve done this for years now with zero ill effects, no. It takes longer to turn on because the Vita has one of the most impressive rest modes I’ve ever seen. That thing can stay in rest mode for what feels like an eternity without losing a charge.

Is it possible to over-charge it by charging it for too long, and it won't work, or work right?

@Squall-Leonhart I mean, you probably shouldn't leave it on a charger for months to be safe, but it's not like a few nights on the charger has ever hurt mine.

@nessisonett The Vita is ultra power-efficient. I've literally left mine in rest mode for weeks on end, only to find it barely lost any power.

@Squall-Leonhart Ideally you should keep it between 20% and 80% charged to maintain good battery health. This applies to anything with a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery, including, for example, a mobile phone, car etc.
