I am not going to watch the movie if it features Male Shepard. That's not my Shep.

@BearsEatBeets @Th3solution Just you wait until he's cast as the new Bond, as well. He's currently the bookies' favourite to take over from Daniel Craig.

I think you're right, I think there's a real danger of "iconic overload" sometimes, which would undermine every individual role. I've got nothing against Henry Cavill, nor his talent, but making him Super-Commander Geralt of Double-Oh Shepard Man would be a huge mistake.

@RogerRoger It would become the Troy Baker effect for live acting.

Commander Shepard is a female in my canon so Henry can sod off. Gimme Margot Robbie.

I haven’t done a FemShep run (that’s the plan for the remaster) but in my mind the perfect Shepard would be Cobie Smulders. I love how she portrays Agent Hill in the MCU.

(....the only unfortunate thing about her is that when I type in her first name my phone autocorrects it to “COVID” 😂)

@get2sammyb @ShogunRok Just a heads-up, folks.

EA have put a download link on their Mass Effect: Legendary Edition website which contains all the separate bonus content from previous deluxe editions of the individual games. The 1.7Gb zip file contains the not-quite-complete-but-complete-enough soundtrack albums (all in 320kbs MP3) including a brand new track for the Legendary Edition, presumably composed for the launcher. It also has art books, comics and a digital lithograph in .pdf form.

It's completely free to access and download (no account required) and is available 'til the end of May, or "until download capacity is reached", whatever that means.

Here is the link, if you're interested.

Well, normally I don't pre-order, but I've made an exception in this case. I'm currently downloading Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and the timer is showing 1 day, 2 hours, and so and so minutes before I can play it. I can't wait! As it inches closer, time has slowed to a crawl. Wish I could jump a Relay into tomorrow evening!

RogerRoger

@LordSteev Don't worry, if there's one thing to make an exception for, it's this! My copy is on its way and, from tomorrow onwards, I'm trying to keep my schedule as clear as possible.

@RogerRoger It felt like about the safest pre-order you could make, lol. I imagine this will pretty much consume my free time for the next 2 months or so. Played all the originals on the day they released, and a few times subsequently, but I've never had the pleasure of playing any of the DLC. Everyone tells me it's fantastic, too. Can't wait to do the whole saga in one time frame!

Thank you, Simply Games. Time to go into a self-imposed lockdown.

@LordSteev Oh wow, yes, allow me to echo what others have already told you about the DLC, it's absolutely superb! Perhaps not for the first game (there's only one, and it's... a thing you can do, I guess) but the second games' additions were great, and the third's perfect.

Leave doing the Citadel DLC 'til right before the endgame in Mass Effect 3. Trust me.

@Matroska Lucky you! Enjoy!

@RogerRoger Haha! Can't wait! Not one person has had anything bad to say about the dlc, so I'm really looking forward to it. My biggest worry, which you helped address, is knowing when the most opportune time to branch away from the main game and into the dlc is. Thanks for the advice, I'll save the Citadel till right before the big finish!

Weirdly, dialogue is coming out of my rear speakers but only when in conversation mode. When I'm just walking around normally, sounds come from the right direction. Using the PS5's official headphones results in a flat, stereo sound in conversations. Seems like Bioware may have messed up sound channel mapping.

@Thrillho Enjoying it a lot so far. Though my OCD need to read/listen to every codex entry is back in full force. 😭

Might as well post this in here. The photo mode is decent though no pose/facial expression settings, sadly. And in this screenshot, Ashley is shooting at a wall relentlessly. The geth never comes out and she never stops shooting. 2000s AI at its finest, ha.

Handy as it means I'm installing the 2 disc beast now ready for my working week to finish tomorrow morning.

@LordSteev No worries. I think there are only two DLCs which work best in specific places; the aforementioned Citadel is one, and the other is Arrival, from Mass Effect 2. It's another one you should look to play towards its game's finale, maybe even after it (for story reasons, although you'll also want your Shep in good shape for it, stat-wise).

Otherwise, I'm pretty sure it'll all make sense and fit together as and when. If you have any specific questions as you play, don't hesitate to ask.

@Matroska Glad you're enjoying it thusfar, and thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Photo Mode, and your combat screencap! Good luck with those codex entries!

@BearsEatBeets Lucky, and good timing on the delivery! Sets you up for a full weekend of uninterrupted intergalactic badassery. My copy is arriving tomorrow between 0930 hrs. and midday, so I've got a morning to clear my decks, and then I'll be jumping in!
