The worst thing are those stupid ankle-high walls and fences that somehow stop characters from getting past. Surely game designers can come up with something better than that?

Or doors that need a key or something to open. Despite being made of wood and the character possessing a shotgun, grenades and all manner of arms. Fallout 4 carried on this lovely Bethesda staple.

The NPC running animations during quests in Assassin's Creed Origins are extremely odd. Everything else in the game is very polished, which makes them particularly stick out.

Janky graphics don't normally bother me, apart from one thing. Like many people have mentioned it's those dull low-res mirrors accompanied by hideous reflections that could be lifted from the PS2 era. Many games have beautiful graphics but still overlook that.

Doors.

Once a friend told me back in 2004 that he hated it that games already looked so realistic, but doors still can open both ways. I couldn't unsee it in almost every game since.

It's 15 years since then and all games still have doors that can turn to both sides.

(I also hate it when the trees branches with leafs are still 2d. Such an immersion killer!)

The one that always got me was the ol invisible wall. It's not too big of a thing now but back in the early days of 3D gaming like Ocarina of Time or GTA III whenever devs wanted to keep you in an area they would put invisible walls up to block you. Like for example I can see that the road continues but once I reach a point my characters just runs into something and keeps running like there's a wall there where there clearly isn't. WHY DO THEY DO THAT??? Clearly they could just end the street there or put a buliding or a real wall there but no they have it so it looks like you can keep going.

That also irked me as I am the type of person that likes to explore and go everywhere. Plus it's so immersion breaking to see your character running against an invisible wall.
