Looks like it's been one of those crazy weekends where nothing has really worked out with alot of low scores. If Gvadiol hadn't scored today I would have been in big trouble seen as Saka didn't play and trent was my vice and he didn't really do anything of note
Just too give people a heads up there is a Friday game this week so deadline is 18.30 Friday. I only just realised and have made the Friday game mistake before
@QualityGeezer Good spot. I hadn't noticed but tend to make my changes quite early now anyway. I left Saka in my team but kind of hoping he doesn't play now as Vardy, my first sub, has 8 points.
@BearsEatBeets not expecting alot from this weekend. Didn't wanna transfer saka or Jota out as hopefully they are not long term injuries and their value has gone up from what I can transfer them out for
@QualityGeezer Yeah, increases in value can be useful for the long run but tricky in that situation. I pondered much the same with Saliba but ultimately decided Arsenal have not been as good defensively lately plus have a few tough fixtures so just took him out.
I used all 3 of my banked transfers so will hopefully be able to bank some over the next few weeks. I'd like to get a reasonable back-up goalie sometime soon as I have had a cheap non-playing one since the start.
@BearsEatBeets it's my biggest bug bear in the entire game. The fact that if you get lucky with a player you buy for 5m then they having a cracking start and go up to 7m, you only get 5m for transferring them out. Really can't wrap my head around it seen as if you have a player who Goe down in value and you want to transfer them they don't retain the original price so seems like double standards to me
@QualityGeezer When a player goes up in value you get half that increase. So in your example a player that you got for 5m but has gone up to 7m would net you 6m if you took them out. When you go into the transfers section, if you switch to 'list view' as opposed to the default 'pitch view' it will show you the three values for the player.
@QualityGeezer đź‘Ť. I've mentioned before but it took me several seasons of doing it before I discovered player price changes were dictated by the popularity of a player and not form (although still related). By always doing my changes close to the deadline I wasn't get the best prices from my transfers out. Now if a big player gets injured/suspended I try and make a change asap, sometimes even while the games are still being played. I've found I can increase the value of my squad over the season much better since then.
The only downside, and the reason I used to make changes late, is with midweek cup competitions and such, a player can get injured. But that is quite a slim chance, I think I've only had it once where I put a player in and then they got injured before the gameweek started.
@BearsEatBeets yeah I usually leave it late so I can hear the press conferences on a Friday to see the injury news, but now you've explained that to me mate your definitely onto a winner doing it your way
Crud! Saka is playing so I'm going to miss out on Vardy's 8 points after all. I suppose Saka could get more than 8 but seeing as he is playing Liverpool I don't really want him to. Maybe I'll hope for a 4-3 win for Liverpool with Saka and Trent getting goals.
@QualityGeezer That would have been helpful. Only 2 pre-assists (which of course count for nothing in ff) and no clean sheet. I'll take the Saka goal and at least Liverpool got it back to a draw but could have been a lot better.
Managed to claw my way off the bottom after the complete disaster of last week, weirdly got the most points this week. It’s super tight at the bottom!
@BearsEatBeets The way Arsenal played in the first half, I thought I'd be happy with a draw. But the how dominant Liverpool were in the 2nd half, I was a bit disappointed we did not pose more of a threat upfront. Especially with Gabrielle coming off.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@JohnnyShoulder yeah I thought Liverpool were getting better the longer it went on. Still, for an away game against one of the main rivals a draw is good enough.
Unrelated to fantasy football kinds, but watching the overlap on YouTube realised my ex postman won a million on the super 6 prediction app. Crazy lol. Nice guy so happy for him
@QualityGeezer That is a nice story buddy, great for him. A lad in my team at work also won it a few years back but not that amount, he was one of a few so it went to (I think) the timing of the first goal or something (not sure they still do this) still walked away with about ÂŁ25K though. He had just had a baby too and was saving for driving lessons so it couldn't have come at a better time!
@Mostik yeah it's mad won't say his full name but he was on the overlap fan debate and carra said this is steve from Swansea who has just won, and I had to double take and put 2 and 2 together
