@BearsEatBeets no! Thankfully. I saw him for 3 seconds… I really dislike him. Saw the stealth plane fly over seemingly in slow motion which felt bizarre. But the young singer was incredible.
@themightyant I'm pretty sure Martin will avoid him if he sees him at a future race. Ridiculously over the top and hyper.
I wonder if we just witnessed a future pop star (if she wants to be one). Very powerful voice.
I wonder if Max gets ahead at the start how the Red Bull is in clear air? Will Kimi go backwards again? All in a moment. First beer got guzzled, onto the next.
@BearsEatBeets good shout, with all the drama with Leclerc etc. at the end I’d missed Williams ending 9th & 10th. Good for them.
Yep I’d be astonished if there were NO penalties in that race. I thought Max had his elbows out a bit unfairly at least once in the opening laps. Plus Russell, Leclerc etc.
@themightyant@BearsEatBeets That was certainly fun! I hope we get several more races like this one. Not too sure why so many decisions were delayed till after the race?
Antonelli has arrived for sure now and laid down his mark. Another great drive from him, and nice to see Norris looking comfortably fast too.
Felt like he left a little on the table in SQ3 too, probably should have been on the second row, maybe even front row. Will be interring to see how the race pace aligns. Mercedes still seem to have a slight edge.
It will interesting to see if Mercedes has sorted their starts. Could make the Sprint extra chaotic if they haven't.
I feel like the Ferrari lost a bit once it went to softs but I'm optimistic things could be quite tight between the top 3 teams 🤞.
Strange what happened to Max, one minute saying the car is the best it's been then 10 minutes later saying it's awful and only just making SQ3.
@BearsEatBeets It looks set up for an interesting race, though I'm still getting my head around the change they made for last race, but I'm hopeful for maximum entertainment!
Yeah, I'm not sure where Max is at ATM. He's never happy unless he's at the front, so at least that's consistant!
@BearsEatBeets@Titntin Yes Max was up and down and Hadjar was just 1 tenth behind him. That's a good recovery as he was 8 tenths and almost a second behind Max the last two qualifying sessions. Over the season so far he's averaging just 0.365 behind Max which is closer than Max's teammates usually are.
Random stats alert!
I was wondering how that compared to other teammate on the grid. So here is a list of the average qualifying times between teammates, closest first. Sprint and Race quali included.
1. Norris 0.033s ahead of Piastri on average
2. Leclerc 0.057s ahead of Hamilton
3. Perez 0.065s ahead of Bottas *
4. Hulkenberg 0.094s ahead of Bortoletto
5. Antonelli 0.096s ahead of Russell
6. Bearman 0.134s ahead of Ocon
7. Gasly 0.212s ahead of Colapinto *
8. Lawson 0.266s ahead of Lindblad *
9. Sainz 0.285s ahead of Albon
10. Verstappen 0.365s ahead of Hadjar
11. Alonso 0.459s ahead of Stroll
No surprises for #11. I'm most surprised by Antonelli being ahead of Russell.
Note: I have removed when a car crashed out and didn't set a time (e.g. Max in Australia), as well as ONE time that was not at all competitive (e.g. Hulkenberg 4.3s ahead of Bortoletto in Miami) where they was clearly something up.
(*) There are three (marked) where one driver was over a second behind their team mate, because one went out in Q1 and the track ramped up, or there were possibly issues, but I have included those, thought if we didn't include them it changes the data massively e.g. Perez/Bottas go from 3rd to 10th. Lawson and Lindblad would go from 8th to 3rd. And Colapinto would be behind Stroll!!! Not enough data for any firm conclusions, just a bit of fun.
@themightyant Cool stats. Probably need a few more races to get a clearer picture. Also I'm pretty sure you have missed a zero on the gap between Antonelli and Russell 😉.
