Topic: Is it time to ditch user reviews on Metacritic?

What about when reviewers are negative about games when they just suck at playing games?

Metacritic is fine in principle, but when you can review a game you have not even played makes a mockery of it. Its open to fan boys bombing the scores and building up the scores to suit their own preferences. In this day and age where people seem to get off by trolling and annoying others, Metacritic has become useless. If only people would be honest and give there true opinions and not go out of there way to upset others. It sums up society really, where you have got to agree with a certain view or be hounded out all together.

I think youtube has too much sway and the algorithm has been ushering me towards 'honest' reviews online all day. I have finally bitten the bullet to see whats up. Absolute nonsense and fake outrage, what I watched of the game was sublime, ok bad things happen, then the youtubers who HARDLY EVER mention TLOU are up in arms (With multiple cash generating adverts spliced in between). We have more dedicated series fans on this site and mostly everyone thinks its good or great.

Pewdiepie knew full well what was coming, Angry Joe knew what was coming, They all knew. It reminds me of listening to shock jocks on the radio years ago. Baiting followers in as yes its entertaining - But morally corrupt. They have a big role in this and Im starting to understand Nintendos line of thought.

@themcnoisy That's what frustrates me is that these idiots attack the game for mostly the wrong reasons and it ends up drowning long term fans who have genuine constructive criticisms but are getting paired with the toxic trolls.

I absolutely hated Mass Effect Andromeda and I mean loathed it. The story, glitches, changes in gameplay, weak characters, no emotion etc etc. For me the single worst follow up in gaming. I would still rate it a 3/10 for its functional shooting, mako driving, some interior design and open world exploration. It's not the worst game ever by any means although It's really bad for a mass effect game. I couldn't play it passed the first big world I was so disappointed.
