@themcnoisy
I'm with you mate, trifle is indeed amazing.

If everyone was the same, it would be an incredibly bland and boring world. If you're different enough that people notice, that probably means you offer a unique perspective and that can often be invaluable.

I'm always interested to know people's hobbies, there are so so many and it's a big part of what makes us who we are. But yeah, unfortunately not many are keen to share just in case people poke fun. Will have to do a hobbies thread at some point I think.

@Arugula Yeah, you're not aloud to moan about load times unless you have sat and a watched a 4 colour picture appear line by line for 4 or 5 minutes.

If you are an adult and you’re playing a game with a bunch of kids, go for it. Who cares if people think you’re a peado!

Don’t think that’s going to hold up in court, Kyle😂.

@Skoda I’m fairly certain that most of us-on the forum anyways, are older.
I’m turning 28 in a week. Been playing games since I was 5/6. Always been on PlayStation with a some Nintendo in between (usually get every 2nd hardware they put out).

I'm 31 years old (born in 1989). My first memory of gaming is playing one of the Super Marios on a NES or SNES at a babysitter's house. I also played some PC games at their house, but can't recall what they were called.

As for first console owned, that would be the PS One (2000), and as a result became addicted to gaming. I still remember the first batch of games I owned (Animorphs: Shattered Reality, Blaster Master: Blasting Again, Spiderman 1, and Spyro the Dragon).

At the moment I currently own a PSOne Slim, PS2 Slim, PSP 3000, PS3 Super Slim, PS4 Pro, PSTV (Vita), Xbox One X, Wii U, New 3DS XL, and the redesigned Switch.

I'm going to be all the threes, 33, in less than four weeks.

Given that I expressed that number with a Bingo Hall reference, I think we can safely assume that the steady march towards senility is well and truly underway.

i made the thread but i didnt tell about myself and i noticed nobody cares to ask or know me anyway so whatever right
BUT ill bore you and tell you. i made the thread because i was actually thinking most of you guys are younger than the 30s, which im surprised is the most common age on here! and i was thinking if most of you are too young i cannot find much association really. so far, i disagree with almost everyone's view on games and i really thought im just not hanging out with my age group. BUT, im a very picky annoying prick so its actually mostly me haha
anyway, heres is my stance on current gaming. I DONT LIKE IT! its all about microtransactions, ONLINE PLAY, and ALL ABOUT GRAPHICS blah blah. we have known since the NES days that playing games is like gambling but it really was just in theory it can work in such manner, because back then we didnt actually do online gaming or spend money for extra DLC and loot boxes and all that garbage, so i felt comfortable. BUT i hate GAMBLING, and i hate GAMBLERS and thats what current gaming has become! The japanese started it actually before EA, Bethesda and all those other *****, but the Japanese with their stupid Pachinko craze! I lost faith in gaming when my dear Konami switched to pachinko, it put a spear through my heart
At one point I was a huge game collector too. Then I realized, whats the ***** point!? Im getting older and older and im having games fill up my room, gathering more and more dust and I cannot even play them even if I was on speed, I wouldnt be able to go through all of them in years haha. So i set up ebay account and sold 50% of my share of games. During this period I realized people collecting games are NUTS! They have serious psychological problems that need serious evaluation. By that I mean insane concentration to detail and 100% whining and bitching about what they are getting. I realized and it hit me right in the ***** face right there, that WOW THATS ME! So, I am so glad I lost my collecting addiction and hoarding (as basically thats what it is) and I feel so much more free now.
BUT, I dont wanna bore people any longer so ill cut it short, Im not a huge fan of current games. Still, regardless, I am a believer I can still find decent products here and there as to play once a while, and hopefully I will, cheers!

@Skoda What games do you play at the moment? What do you think of From Software?

@Skoda You think collectors are nuts? Then you haven't met @kyleforrester87

Most first party games are free of micro-transactions. Uncharted doesn't have them; Horizon Zero Dawn doesn't have them. Even Death Stranding doesn't have them. You just need to know where to look.

I feel so called out right now... (looks at backlog) ...nah it's fine. Anyway back to your original topic regarding rough demographics:

I am 24, been playing games since around 2000 where my family was gifted a SNES from a friend. First game was Donkey Kong Country 3. Heavy bias towards Nintendo since I primarily played Nintendo consoles growing up (SNES, Game Boy Colour, N64, Wii, Gamecube, 3DS, Wii U, Switch, in that order) but also owned and played PS2, PSP, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Mega Drive (or Genesis for North Americans although I personally think that is the cooler name and only played a couple of games). Play games from most genres with the exception of sports and probably shooters (although I have played those on occasion). Despise Micro-transactions and the general push to digital/cloud gaming over physical media. Generally believe that exclusives are what sells systems.

That should give you a rough summary. Regarding the whole ages thing, I tend to find no shortages of comments where kids or a wife is mentioned so I have never been under the illusion that the forums are completely teen populated, but going by some responses even in this thread alone, I can see why you thought otherwise. To be fair, I can be goofy too so I can't really say anything.

Signature, huh? Where do I sign?

@Skoda
If you want people to care, you have to upload an avatar. First rule of the internet. No wait, that's "Don't read the comments." Nevermind.

haha, im reforming though. i considered myself to be one of those nuts at one point in time. i dont literally mean to offend people who are collectors, but i cannot see it as anything different but hoarding. is it really that bad? not really. its just an addiction and obsession. i would think its better than doing really detrimental other activities in society for sure though.
