@RogerRoger You don't need to clear your backlog completely. You can play those games on the 5. Just buy it!
Turns out my shoulder devil was @Kidfried all along! What a twist!
As for the Suicide Squad game, I'm not feelin' it. Particularly if it turns out to be a live-service game, but also because the Squad's characters have never been favourites of mine. Gotham Knights is a single-player known quantity featuring folks I actually wanna be (Robin and Nightwing primarily). We've seen gameplay which I loved the look of. I won't say "never" until we know more, but I doubt Suicide Squad is something I'd wanna play right away, if at all.
What about you?
"We want different things, Crosshair. That doesn't mean that we have to be enemies."
@RogerRoger Many people have already described me as the devil on their shoulder... I'll also be that person that says "It's your bag of crisps, if you want to eat all of it right now, then that's your prerogative"
I'm a bit anxious about Suicide Squad, but that's the same for Gotham Knights. Both developers have come out to say "the game can be played solo", but obviously both games are made with multiplayer front of mind. And I really don't know which one of these will be more "live game".
The gameplay for Gotham Knights so far is what actually worries me so much. The graphics look great, but the combat felt kinda... Assassin's Creed? With the level showing next to the villain names, and all of it looking very much "light attack/strong attack".
And the game so far looked like:
Generic combat scene
Gameplay exposed to us while walking to the next combat scene
Had very much an Avengers feel to it. Court of Owls and the cast really makes me want to love it, but what we've seen so much... just some alarm bells for me.
Suicide Squad... yes, I love the cast less than the Gotham Knights cast, and I'm afraid the game will be a lame service game, BUT the lighter world is interesting to me. I would have loved to see a Batman game in that kind of world.
@Kidfried Totally with you regarding Gotham Knights, I am very apprehensive about that game, although I'm not so keen on any of the characters though.
In my experience when I've played these games designed with co-op in mind, they will say it can be played solo, what is usually boils down to is the gameplay gets boring real quick and there will be a certain point in the game when the enemies get super difficult to face solo. I guess we will have to wait and see with how they balance all that.
Also I'm think I'm a bit fed up of games being set in a gloomy Gotham which is why Suicide Squad interests me a bit more as it looks to be more colourful, but need to see it in action before making a verdict either way.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
I think I'm encouraged by the fact that Gotham Knights only supports a second drop-in, drop-out player when it comes to online multiplayer. Suicide Squad has a much larger group roster which will have to cater for "raiding parties" and whatnot, and that's where it'll lose me. Should I ever need backup, finding one friend is an easier prospect than finding five. It's also easier to downsize a two-player co-op game into a single player experience, than it is with something team-based.
But that's just me, and we don't know for certain yet. I also get your criticism of the Gotham Knights gameplay we've been shown. Since I don't play Assassin's Creed games (yet) I won't mind if some of it feels derivative, but I can understand your apprehension. It had a definite Arkham vibe for me, but little to champion as its own innovation.
Tearing out of the Batcave on the Redbird will hold that fanboy fizz the first time, but I guess the question will be whether the rest of the game can maintain such momentum.
As for a lighter Batman, I'm still holding out for my Batman '66 game. It needs to happen!

Cyberpunk 2077, the new God of War game and most likely a new Trails game from Falcom. The PS5 will be a game-changer especially with the quality of their exclusives. There are still a lot of games out there and I am very excited to see what they have in store for us.
TEMTEM coming to PS5!!! Very tempted to grab it on early access in December. I was burnt out on Pokémon, having grown up with it ever since the cards first appeared, but I've had my eye on this game for long time. I shouldn't be this excited for it but I am.
