Can't find a PS5 to save my ass but i don't feel like waiting until i do to play these games. Have you had any bad experience with other PS4 versions of games also on PS5? What's the word on RE Village? Does it appear to be running well enough for those stuck with last gen for now?

Uh...Horizon Forbidden West was developed almost entirely for the PS4 before shifting to next-gen and then to cross-gen. There's no way it'll run terribly on PS4.
@Zeldafan79 I think it should be fine. Miles Morales as far as I know ran OK on PS4, it just performed better on PS5 and was able to offer stuff like 60fps and ray tracing.

@Zeldafan79 Ray tracing means the GPU calculates light ray paths in real time to produce more accurate lighting / shadows / reflections (it can be any of these, depends on the implementation).
Here's an example of Spider-Man Remastered with RT enabled (left) vs Spider-Man PS4 version
@Zeldafan79 I commented on this over on another thread, so forgive me for being repetitive, but I wasn’t really convinced that ray tracing was a very big deal before, but I’m playing through my first game with it implemented (Control in PS5) and it just looks so fantastic. It’s by no means essential, but the way light reflects and shines onto objects does make them look so much more realistic and interesting. The reflections on glass are the easiest place to tell the difference. I’m a fan of the technology now! But it certainly doesn’t change the gameplay or overall way that a game will function. The 60 fps has more to do with that. But ray tracing is just so pretty. 😄
I expect a game like Forbidden West will look a cut above with the tech, but it will still look great without it. I’m anxious to see how RT affects the underwater sections.
I do think it’s an upgrade that is likely to be most noticeable only on photorealistic graphics. For example, I doubt ray tracing would add much to the graphical fidelity of an animated game like Persona 5 or Gravity Rush.
These days I like to make sure that there's some PS4 gameplay footage in the wild before buying/preordering a game. The whole Cyberpunk debacle has made me more skeptical about these sorts of things.
RE Village has a demo, so I guess there would have been a lot of complaints by now if there was anything majorly bad about it.
@Zeldafan79 If you have any concerns, just don't pre-order it and wait until reviews are out so you can then decide yourself whether it worth buying it for ps4 or just waiting until you can get a ps5. I'm not super hyped about much from this year, so am not in a rush to buy many titles. Only Horizon FW I would probably pre-order but we've seen barely anything of the game and still no release date or period.

All reviews of the game say it plays very well on a PS4 Pro. If you have one, you should get an amazing gaming experience. If you don’t have a PS4 Pro, you might want one until PS5s are easy to find.
The PSVR is the best VR system on the market today.
I've seen some footage of Village it running on a base PS4 and it seemed very solid. Looked almost as good as the PS5 version too, just at 1080p instead of 4K and no ray traced lights.
