@RogerRoger So that’s why the voices are all a bit odd and not particularly well acted! I was wondering why they’d all changed and that explains it.

@LN78 yeah he seems to concentrate on 8-bit and 16-bit in the main. Some people might find his enthusiasm a bit much like… but I quite enjoy his content.

**** DLC!

@colonelkilgore I'll have a look when I get home. The Game Sack lads put out a compilation of their "Castlevania" episodes recently if you're interested.

@Thrillho I just finished the story for The Stick Of Truth and well it's South Park so it was fun and funny.

I will definitely get around to playing the second one seen as I enjoyed this.

@MaulTsir Both South Park games are very different, but also similar in the right way. I enjoyed both a lot. I think they carry over the series' charm perfectly to another medium.

I'm playing Nier Replicant myself. Something I probably already mentioned a month or two ago. Progress is slow, because I play for less than four hours a week, but I'm still invested and appreciate what's there a lot.

The way grinding for resources is a must and side quests are nothing more than deliveries, shows you how much gaming has changed in the last decade. I do miss these kinda games nowadays, even the cheap parts.

@LN78 yeah I will cheers. Just ‘finished’ what I assume to be the main story of SotN… though I’m aware that there are a few playthroughs at least required. Great game fair play… the map is incredible. Reminds me of the original Dark Souls map a bit in some strange way.

**** DLC!

LN78

@colonelkilgore I think it's fair to say that the replayability of "SotN" is it's most celebrated feature - one aspect of the design is particularly notorious!

@LN78 well… just found out about the inverted castle! Thank god I always make a save before boss fights 😅

**** DLC!

@Kidfried yeah I enjoyed The Stick Of Truth so I will be looking forward to playing the next one.

I really enjoyed Nier Automata, there was just something about it. I wouldn't say it's aged well or bad but it's definitely a game that was interesting to play.

I've started Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, I was a big fan of The Division 2 and thought I'd give this a go, there's a few multiplayer trophies and seems like it would be a good enough game to get some co-op in.

I played a few hours of Sundered (or Sunderland as spell check kept changing it to), initially I liked it as aesthetically it is my jam and the score I thought was cool. Unfortunately I eventually found the combat to be very samey as there was little variation to it. Also you have these hordes of enemies which you have to face off against, which was ok at first but it soon got annoying. This also made the combat feel very button mashy due the number of enemies you have to fight at he same time.

So I started Hollow Knight.... and I really like it! Definitely seems more my thing, with a nice mix of exploration, combat and progression. I've beaten the first boss and the quest for the Shamen, so still quite early. But hopefully this one sticks.

Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

@MaulTsir Wildlands is a really fun game for co-op, huge map too. It’s quite open-ended how you approach it, so you can tailor the way you play to your preferences.

I've been playing through Resident Evil 5 for the last couple of weeks. Beat it at the weekend on my first blind play through on normal. Then have completed another run on easy to find all emblems (using a guide) and fully upgrade some weapons so I can get infinite ammo for them. Today I have managed to unlock the infinite rocket launcher via a speed-run and collect a few of the miscellaneous trophies.

I am now set to complete it again on hard and probably will attempt to do so again on hardest (not yet unlocked). I've really enjoyed this game and.... (unpopular opinion coming, bracing for the backlash) personally think it's a better game than RE4 which I completed a few months back.

I'm not saying it's a better Resident Evil game, but as a game to play in this day and age I think it's much more enjoyable and fun.

@sorteddan "Resi 5" is a brilliant (perhaps my favourite) co-op game, but in solo mode the amoeba level intellect of the partner AI completely destroyed the experience for me - Capcom basically took the short lived frustrations of the Ashley escort missions from "Resi 4" and expanded them to feature length status. You couldn't pay me to play that game through again in single player campaign mode so kudos to you for attempting it multiple times.

@LN78
Absolutely - a couple of the bosses had me literally shouting abuse at my AI controlled partner - it's either follow me blindly and be of no assistance OR unload all ammo with no regard for the vulnerable weakspots of the enemy. Should hopefully be less hassle when I don't need to conserve ammo and can one shot most of the enemies.

If not, well I've got two controllers and a mate that I could convince to help out.

@LN78
Nope. I'm fairly sure that all trophies are achievable playing either solo or co-op.

LN78

@sorteddan That's handy karma. Are you going to play "Resi 6" next? It's reputation is largely deserved but it's a ton of campy fun if you can get into the right headspace - think of it as the videogame equivalent of an episode of "Dark Place" and you'll have a blast.

Sable

I've had Vampyre sat on my PS4 for a few months. Decided to make it my Halloween game of choice.

Bloodborne is conquered! What an amazing game!

After the DS trilogy and this I really think of myself as a FromSoftware games fan!

And usually I pick the story/easy option in games!!!

Tomorrow I will probably order Elden Ring!

Still no Demon's Souls for me because of PS5 reasons
