Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Thanks! More or less; hope you had a good Christmas week?

It's been pretty good thanks @RogerRoger! I've been enjoying the time off and relaxing far too much 😂

Kentucky Route Zero only got an honourable mention because, sure, whilst its highs were incredibly high, it also featured some lows which were a real struggle to get through. I'd still recommend it to everybody, but I'd do so knowing only about 20% of people would actually like it; as such, its genius was far too inconsistent for the whole experience to make the grade. If I broke it down into its individual episodes, then one of them might've ranked.

That's interesting... I uhh... Certainly won't try it myself as some of the things I've heard about it sound like an absolute slog and well... When I dislike something I typically tend to dislike it hard. We all know how my Nier Automata playthrough or Days Gone went this year lol

It has been a long year, hasn't it? I had to use my PS4's trophy list and check my backlog documents to remind myself of what I'd played. I loved your top five, by the way. They're all very "you" (which is absolutely a complement) and I kinda expected Divinity would be up there!

I had to do that too but even then I've still managed to forget a tew things I've tried/played this year... It's a little embarassing actually how much I have played 😄

And thanks rog. Glad you enjoyed reading my list

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy There's no such thing as "relaxing too much", so nicely done!

Based on what you've just said, I suspect that you'd be screaming at your TV for large chunks of Kentucky Route Zero... just like I did, and so yeah, unless it's free on PS Plus or literally £1.50 in a sale someday, you're probably smart to sidestep it for now!

And same. When I saw Max Payne on my list, I did a literal double-take!

@RogerRoger Yeah, TLG is a game I've wanted to play, and have intended to play, for a long time. It just keeps slipping between the cracks of other releases I'm excited for.

Ever played Shadow of the Colossus? That's the Fumito Ueda game I've spent the most time with (on PS2; soon on PS4).

Currently Playing: Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re- Boot Camp (NS)

I think there is a bit if a problem when you keep thinking you don't wanna go back to work for a month or so instead of in 5 days @RogerRoger

I completely forgot I played through The Last Of Us for the first time this year (On PS3 no less). I only recalled I'd played last night when I actually started looking for content on youtube (I hadn't really used it all that much for gaming related topics really) and stumbled across the Nolan North youtube channel retro replay with him doing a playthrough of it. 😅

@Ralizah I have not played Shadow of the Colossus... properly. I played its PS2 demo back in the day, when it was given away free with a magazine. A game where you guide a majestic animal around and work with it to endure? Sign me up. A game where you go around murdering dozens of unique creatures (even if that's the whole point of the story's message)? Hard pass.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy I keep meaning to go back and check out what Uncle Noly has been playing on his channel of late. I'm generally not a fan of Let's Plays, but he's so entertaining!

For me it's more I've never quite found the right youtubers @RogerRoger (Not to mention where I'd find the time to view the oodles of content between my already busy schedule).

Nolan North is pretty charming and dare I say adorable with his gameplay as he slowly gets used to "being on the sticks" 😄

... Plus I think I might start to get why you don't like Troy Baker all that much

Also for the Team Ico talk... What about their namesake and Ico rog? You tried it? I've only played the demo for that... which is also my only experience with Team Ico games 😅

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Yeah, that's it exactly. When I find somebody I like, then it comes close to watching a friend play a game, which feels better (and you're right, it's also rare to find the many, many hours it sometimes takes to stick with an entire playthrough).

And thank you. I always feel bad when I generate a disdain for somebody I've never met, so I'm kinda glad you're presumably seeing the same qualities in Troy Baker.

I very nearly purchased Ico once, back in the day. From what I know of it, there'd be much more of an appeal, even if the entire game is apparently one long escort mission. I wouldn't mind getting its PS3 remaster, although that comes bundled with Shadow of the Colossus and then I'd kinda feel obligated to play it. Might look around for PS2 copies when I'm next on eBay.

I spent most of last year chipping away at that backlog which is how i will no doubt spend most of this year, the list seems to always get bigger and not smaller some how!

I had a busy beginning of the year and then worked alot of covid but still managed to get through a few games. My top 5 for the year would be

1.Diablo 3
2. Assassins Creed Origins
3. Detroit Become Human
4. Yakuza 0
5. Tales of Beseria
