I have had this problem with my last 2 TV's. Originally had the problem with a plasma HDTV and still have the same problem with my Samsung 4K HDR TV. I get a glowing effect around objects that are bright. I have gone through all of my TV settings to no avail. Maybe it is a common problem but I don't know. I have dealt with this for years and can't imagine this is normal. I was going to post a picture but I am new here and can't figure out how to do that.
@DGFooman It's probably down to the type of panel you have, do you know if it's edge lit or back lit? This is one of things that OLED screens are much better at as they light individual pixels rather than areas like typical LED screens.
Antdickens, it is, I'm assuming, backlit since I can change the backlight setting. Nothing I have tried gets rid of the glow, especially on white or yellow objects.
@DGFooman looking at some reviews it sounds like it’s an edge lit screen which often suffer from glowing compared to direct/back lit screens. So that might be why, without seeing it it’s hard to judge though. Only thing I can think of is trying game mode as that should be putting the screen into the fastest response mode.
