Topic: Can PS4 play burned blu ray movies?

I found a box of blu rays in my basement and i can't get my ps4 to play some of them. They don't appear to be terribly scratched but the ones that are having issues might be bootlegs. One of them loads up okay and will play for a while without any problem but certain scenes will skip or freeze. I don't know if that's because of copy protection or what but if it were that i assume they wouldn't load at all yet they do.

It may be because the disc is damaged, therefore the ps4 cannot read it... Maybe you may need to clean it a little bit. In my experience I can't even play some blu-ray movies even though it's not damaged unfortunately.

One blu ray disc seems to always freeze around the same spot yet i see no scratches. It's really weird. Usually after several attempts i get the error message that says invalid disc. I can't figure it out.

I have never been able to get a burned disc to play on my PS4 so I just assume it's some kind of copyright thing.

Just chalk it up as a lesson that piratecy is not a good thing.
