@themcnoisy Thanks for doing this; I like the idea of quick-fire "issue" polling in the forums, where we can elaborate a little more and come up with a community consensus.

@Frigate We are all generally long time gamers who have shunned the majority of popular online Shooters as we have been enjoying our hobby. I'm saying that as we all play PS rather than PC or Xbox.

I'm trying to get a group to play on Monday night before I delete Apex. It's not great playing alone if I'm being honest. If I can't get a group - then it's curtains for the genre to me. Off shoots like Tetris BR or hopefully a 100 man Bombernan or 100 man Mario Kart Battle mode would be sweet though.

I wonder why you don't need ps+ to play Apex Legends but you do need Xbox Gold?

Which games have people actually tried?

I gave Fortnite a go early doors and didn’t get it at all. The sitting around waiting to get in and out of games was a particular annoyance for me. Apex Legends is supposed to be better for that though.

Well, I missed the voting I would've voted Push Bike. Before Apex Legends I'd have been less enthused, but that game is definitely the most fun I've had playing Battle Royale. It's good fun to nip in every now and then and have a few matches.

I don’t care for the genre, but I do think it’s good to have around.
It’s bringing in a new audience & expanding the medium, which can only be good for the games industry as a whole.

But yeah, I don’t care for it.

@JohnnyShoulder Its always been this way. Virtually everything online on Xbox required Gold - Silver, as it was called, was very limited and basically allowed you to get your games updated. Don't forget that Sony once offered online totally free and when they added PS+, they kind of compromised that by making Apps and Free to Play also free to all regardless of whether they had PS+ or not.

Therefore its kind of historical that on Xbox you need Gold for all online activities whilst you don't need PS+ for Free to Play games.

@BAMozzy @JohnnyShoulder Yeah, I’ve noticed that the workaround with the F2P games is added bonus materials or credits for the Plus members, which I think is a really good strategy. I don’t play these F2P games typically, but it’s nice having a perk if I want to try them. Like the 10,000 free chips you get at Four Kings Casino 😄

@Thrillho Apex legends is good. But it also has massive issues and could easily be improved in just about every way conceivable.

I also hate the way Pubg, Fortnite and apex all use really similar mechanics and have similar issues. Battle bus, no weapon start, shrinking circle, build up your arsenal slowly, infrequent skirmishes etc. I played Pubg for a good 20-30 hours, Fortnite for a good 50 games with my kids. Apex I will probably bounce off even sooner as its too similar unless some of the community jump in.

Its a great 'mode' for a game with a campaign and multiplayer. But as a whole game, I have seen everything Apex has to offer in 4-5 hours.
