@BoyFromMars82 Personally I couldn't care less about Private matches myself - especially if there is NO progression. Only time I think these are worthwhile is if you want to practice against bots, want to look at a map to know its layout or if you have 12+ friends online - enough to fill two full teams. Some of the maps are far too big for a 3v3 and would play very slowly.

Titans are so slow and clunky by comparison to Pilots - I think that's why the Titans are not that popular. In Titanfall, the original, they were not made of glass and 'could' last a match - mainly because they had regenerating shields (not health) so if you played accordingly, you could make it last a match. Jumping on a titan though as a pilot, if the player wasn't 'good', you could take them out easily without ripping batteries out. The only defence was the electric cloud, by getting out and shooting the pilot OR have a friend shoot them off. Even still most people still put their Titans in Patrol mode as they preferred to play as a Pilot. Like I said, its telling that Pilot vs Pilot is one of the most popular modes and Last Titan Standing one of the least.

@BAMozzy some of the best rocket league matches we ever had were in private matches. Slightly different I know, but I think dismissing it is a bit harsh. Point taken about the maps - but maybe its our only way to play capture the flag!

@BoyFromMars82 cool, maybe we can try it out. I wasn't on last night so couldn't try it myself, my daughter on the other hand is the ultimate titanfaller! She stops giants from playing games by the power of crying her eyes out. Lol.

@themcnoisy Whats the point on playing Capture the Flag in a 3v3 on maps that big? I would rather not play that mode than play it with such small teams on such big maps. Any objective mode really needs a full team for these maps. there is not enough to defend or attack. Even Attrition would be quite boring - a case who kills more grunts rather than Pilots

Rocket league is designed for small teams (2v2) so it makes sense to play this way if 4 'friends' are online but in TF2, you need a minimum of 6 to make a team - even the 9v9 modes aren't that busy on the maps - hence AI grunts. RL wouldn't work with 4v4 or more.

@BAMozzy you know better than I do, isn't there any small maps? We could play a deathmatch between us all!

I don't think the maps are that big. Most are similar size to Angel City. We could do team or free for all. Worth a couple of games at least to see what it's like

@Speedy67 Bristol has some scary bridges man. My sat nav took a detour that way a few years ago on the way to the Southwest.

@themcnoisy Driving in Bristol seems very stressful, apparently its got one of the worst traffic systems in the country.

It will be my last venture on multiplayer ps4 games for a bit and would love to finish off with a night on TF2. Hopefully we get a good 2.5 hours in starting at 9:30pm. I've promised my wife I'm not gaming on my ps4 for 30 days and 30 nights from the 14th of February. (I'm making sure this ends when mass effect drops) as I have been hitting the gaming pretty hard since final fantasy 15 released.

Ya I should be up for it could use a break from trying to plat modern Warfare, it's very frustrating at times!
