Topic: Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris multiplayer event Tuesday 25th

@RogerRoger What a nice looking bunch! I haven’t played Temple of Osirus for a while and I don’t remember it having alternate costumes.

Yeah, as far as Borderlands, I’m having a lot of fun with it solo. I played a little of the first game co-op with one friend years ago and it is designed very well around 2-4 player co-op, although solo is perfectly acceptable fun as well. But if you all each took a different character class then you’d be in for a treat for your next co-op project, if the game strikes your fancy. I usually don’t care for “irreverent” style games because their stupidity can get old quick, but BL strikes a good balance, imo. Handsome Jack remains humorous throughout. Other thoughts from the PS Plus list that you might all have include the aforementioned Absolver, as well as For Honor which apparently has 2 v 2 and 4 v 4 modes. Also Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is targeted at up to 4 player co-op and even Conan Exiles if you wanted to try open world survival cooperatively. PS Plus has put out quite a variety of options that you all might have already.

Too bad I am in the middle of my workday when it’s evening there. By the time I get off work, it’s after midnight there. Weekdays are rough for me anyways. But I’m glad you all are having fun with it!

@Th3solution what's the deal with no mandatory holidays in the USA? We get a minimum of 20 plus 8 bank Holidays over here - France gets even more.

@themcnoisy Yeah, I’m not even sure what a “Bank Holiday” is, but we definitely don’t have those. No holidays are mandatory for the private sector. If you work for the government then you get a lot of holidays off, but not 28. If you work in retail, it’s possible that you work Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving.

@Th3solution The alternate costumes are part of the Season Pass, I think. There are more for Lara than the others (naturally) but some are quite cool, like a Deus Ex one and another which turns her into a golden statue. I switched to using blocky PSone Lara after that level and I think that's where I'll keep her.

I've played Tales from the Borderlands before and liked the style of humour a lot, even if it was a little mature at times. A couple other folks have suggested it to me over the years, so I'll add your recommendation and therefore add it to my Library. Unfortunately, as we discovered last night whilst comparing game lists, I tend not to automatically add every single PS Plus offering to my Library. I'm a little picky like that; my OCD only allows things associated to my profile that I'm definitely gonna play (or at least try) so I'm missing tons of great co-op games that were free with PS Plus. Most of them appear relatively cheap still, however, so I'm not averse to putting down a tenner if it'll help out a friend.

As for the UK / US time differential, I'm a bit of an insomniac most of the time anyway. If there was ever a specific game or trophy you wanted and / or needed a co-op buddy for, and you think I might have it or be interested in getting it, never hurts to ask. As long as I'm not away from my apartment, I could likely stay up and play (normally I run and hide from interacting with others, but these last couple Tuesdays have been really positive experiences, so I'm kinda out of my shell now).

@themcnoisy You'll have to let us know if you hear back from those folks yesterday. I'm sure you weren't quite at Isis muppetry levels (even if the haphazard Facebook CV was)!

@RogerRoger @KALofKRYPTON I'm happy to pay for a game, the only concern I have is the amount of games in my library lol. I also won't play certain games on principal like Battlefront - I am massively against aggressive monetisation. Being the poster boy for it (Albeit not included after the uproar) I won't buy it ever. I will only play Ubisoft games if they are given away free due to their monetisation practises. Luckily for that reason for honour and the snowboarding one are in my library. Don't get me started on Activision or other such publishers. Fifa is dead to me, street fighter 5's fight bux or whatever they were called I loathe and the only game I have actually enjoyed with such mechanics is Rocket League which didn't have microtransactions for like 9 months (it had straight up cheap dlc packs beforehand like £3 for 2 cars and customisation stuff) so Im kitted out in great customisation anyway with most of the cars unlocked. So to summarise I am happy to buy a none microtransaction filled game to play online!

I've got a second interview which Im going to arrange for 3/4 weeks time. It's a bit different to a job interview - basically the place I went doesn't have the expertise or fundamental building blocks in place to enact what my department does. So as long as we agree terms I can take the role. That's not to say I would take it as I enjoy my job marketing cars and the people I work with - I'm actually more concerned for my friend who thought this was all OK.

@themcnoisy Oh, I'm with you on that principle, absolutely. My hands were tied by my pathetic adoration of Star Wars when it came time to get Battlefront II, even if I did essentially get it free with GAME Elite points, but nowadays I'll actively avoid supporting aggressive monetisation / microtransactions, same as you. And hey, we've all got backlogs to clear!

And good on you for not automatically taking a job as / when offered. Agreed that the biggest issue in all of this was your friend going ahead and doing that on your behalf; hope you can get that sorted out, that's just straight-up bizarre (no matter how well-intentioned).

@FullbringIchigo She's the default auto-correct for Lara. I've had to fiddle about with my phone's keyboard dozens of times when texting / Skyping my best friend about Tomb Raider, and I still get "Laura" more often than not. Modern technology strikes again!
