Hi guys, my daughter's minecraft world had a corruption and wasn't able to load. She'd been building this thing FOR.EVER! We don't have PS Plus, so there was no online backup.

I read on a forum that you can try and rebuild the database. Did that, and now every single save game file has disappeared. Not just from Minecraft, but EVERY game. I could cry, but can live with losing my game saves, but is there any possible way to get her Minecraft file back?

Really grateful for any help, advice or suggestions..

Thanks for reading...

@stuzster thanks so much for this I really appreciate the help. šŸ˜€

I have this a quick go, but one question about safe mode if I may, after holding down the power button until the PS4 beeped, I got a prompt to attach a usb cable to the controller which I did, then a list of options (including rebuild database). There was nothing that allowed me to start the PS4 in safe mode. There was only an option to reboot the PS4. Is that correct?

Thanks again.

@stuzster thanks for this. I tried playing some games and it did create the save files ok. Iā€™m also sure I chose the right option as the onscreen messages confirmed the database was being rebuilt at the time.

Real shame, but like you said I think I have to accept the fact there was / is a Hdd issue..,

Thanks again for all your help and enjoy the rest of your evening. šŸ˜€

@franco265 Oof, this is one of my fears always: losing my save files. Had it happen to me once about twelve years ago; it felt so terrible that I am happy paying for PS Plus every month.

I wish you good luck!
