Topic: Controller constantly pushes left but only when plugged in. Can I fix this?

The controller is an older type dualshock 4

Here's what's up:

All these problems are new

.Controller disconnected due to low battery

.Controller does not charge

.Lightbar does not work

.Controller inputs hard left (like extreme drift and happens on PC as well)

.Problem not fixed by software update, controller reset, new USB cable, stick cleaning (to fix drift) and battery removal

.I tried remapping right d-pad and then left stick to find which was causing the drift but it still occurred even when both were changed

I've already searched the internet and tried everything I can think of but so far nothing has worked. I have found forum posts about a similar issue but in reverse so it only occurred when the controller was used wirelessly. I hope someone here has a fix, or can tell me if I should just buy a new one.

I've already tried reddit for help but they were as useful as ever.

@fulcrum The OG PS4 controller models were discontinued along time ago , and i presume they were only really compatible with the original PS4 too . The later PS4's that replaced the OG PS4, (slim & pro) came with a new version/model controller . so aside from the general wear-and-tear , you probably have one of the later PS4's and the OG controller probably isn't as compatible or efficient .

i had a problem (not exactly like yours though) with using the current model ps4 controllers on my OG PS4 back then
