eaglebob345 commented on Sony: We Aren't Making Vita Games Because of C...:

@Kohaku Their abandonment of the Vita, and just about every accessory they make, is why I'm so skeptical of the Morpheus. Sony can hype all they want but when things get hairy they'll probably drop Morpheus support, too. If they took a step back, renamed the Vita, made it slightly more powerful (future proof it), added PSP BC with the mini-discs, and started using SD cards, I would be more inclined to actually buy one (more of a pipe dream, really). The memory card thing is so obvious it hurts, yet they are too oblivious to realize it. Even if they ignored everything I said and just heavily dropped the price of the memory cards, I think it could help sales. As for games, port some PS3 and PS4 games over. They could hire a small, dedicated Vita team to get games onto the Vita. Heck, they could pull a Nintendo and fund lots of smaller spin-off games of their franchises to build onto franchises. As well as the PS4 is doing, it is appalling to see them drop support for one-third of the 8th generation consoles they sold. There should be a poll for who would consider buying another Handheld Sony Console after the Vita and for how many people on the site have one (I'm curious now).

I'd have upgraded to a Vita long ago if a Kingdom Hearts game landed on the system. It was one of the many reasons for me to get a 3DS and the reason I got a PSP. I even folded and got a PS3 for KH2.5. Who knows, if I enjoy Uncharted as much as I want to, I may get a Vita for that. I heard Soul Sacrifice was like Monster Hunter so i may consider one for that, too.

Seems like Nintendo and Sony are more alike than people want to believe. Only difference is that Nintendo refuses to give up on the Wii U until the end, while Sony gave up on the Vita long ago and is finally admitting it, even though it is a very sorry excuse. Based on the eighth generation alone, I won't consider buying another Sony handheld console if this is how they answer to hardship. However, I'd consider buying another Nintendo home console because they at least respect us consumers enough to tough it out (though next time I'll try not to get one so early).

@raptor That would be awesome. I would pay a little extra, $50-100 extra, for a PS system that can play all PS games, but that's just me. Same for Xbox. To me, all three current consoles should be able to play/emulate each of their disc based predecessor's games. All it takes is a little work and if Sony was really "for the players" they would recognize that some of us want it and make it happen.

eaglebob345 commented on Poll: Which PS4 Exclusives Has E3 2015 Convinc...:

<==== KH3!!! :-P Not exclusive, but still!
As for exclusives, Horizon and maybe UC4, if I make it through the first three. Not totally convinced the Last Guardian will be out next year, nor do I understand the hype for it, but that's just me. I've decided to still wait for KH3 to come out before making the plunge, unless Sony wants to add BC. Come on Sony, everybody's doing it! ;-)

@Mega-Gazz I agree. I'm having problems just with a PS2, PS3, and Wii U. Xbox One and PS4 wouldn't fit at present, but replacing PS3 with a BC PS4 would be grand. That and I want to rest the PS2, but I don't want to have to rebuy my games on PS3 because it won't play PS2 games. :-(

I loved both Microsoft and Sony conferences and I will get both consoles eventually. However, that backwards compatibility is what is making me want a One first. I got a Wii U first because of that. :-) Heck, if Nintendo's NX plays Wii U (and possibly 3DS games) and launches before Kingdom Hearts 3, I might get one of those before getting a PS4. :-P Point is that BC is an important factor for me.

eaglebob345 commented on Feature: We Grade E3 2015's Press Conferences:

@get2sammyb I know, it was almost unanimously decided that it was bad. I was prepared for disappointment, from their earlier statements that Zelda wouldn't be there and they were focussing on games coming out rather than in development, but I didn't expect it to be THAT bad... Sony and Microsoft shone bright, though. And I got more footage of Kingdom Hearts 3, so I am still pretty happy. I think I want to get both an XB1 and PS4 now. Truth be told, Microsoft won me over with their backwards compatibility and I've wanted to get into Halo and Gears of War for a while now, but Horizon alone is making me want a PS4. It and Xenoblade Chronicles X are right up my alley. I may even get one before KH3 comes out. I folded on the Wii U with MK8, told myself I would wait for X... I regret nothing!

eaglebob345 commented on Reaction: Sony Delivers the Greatest E3 Press ...:

@freaksloan Basically the same for me, minus a Vita as well. At this point, I'm not getting another Sony console without Kingdom Hearts on it, and it looks like XB1 may take me for 3 if Sony doesn't reciprocate some backwards compatibility. I really want to get into Uncharted, but I spent too much break time playing Monster Hunter... I'll get there eventually.

eaglebob345 commented on Round Up: What Did Sony Announce During Its E3...:

Was a pretty good show. Too bad people are trying to give Sony props for doing the exact same crap with The Last Guardian that Square Enix did with Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. I now have a PS3 I don't even want because Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't going on it, just like some people got a PS3 for The Last Guardian. To make matters worse, Microsoft beat Sony to the punch with Backwards Compatibility. As far as I am concerned, Microsoft may not have beaten Sony, but Sony did not mop the floor with Microsoft by any means.
Now we wait for Nintendo and Square Enix to wrap up the big announcements. Although, I have a feeling that people are going to be a little disappointed today, but if anyone is good at surprises, it's Nintendo. I want a Dream Drop Distance port from SE, I can't play the game where others can see it otherwise. They don't even have an excuse about second screens because the Wii U and PS3/4-Vita connectivity exists, and the game didn't even require two screens.
As for Nintendo, Metroid, F-Zero, Zelda, Fatal Frame, Xenoblade, Monster Hunter, Pokemon, Shin Megami Tensei, Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, etc. If you can think it, they better have it on Wii U because, at present, I can't realistically see them besting anyone's conference this year. We are at least bound to see something good though, so I will be cautiously optimistic.

eaglebob345 commented on Review: Dragon Ball XenoVerse (PlayStation 4):

"You see, XenoVerse certainly isn't your standard fighting game. It's far more Dragon Ball Online than it is Budokai 3, and as such, if you were looking forward to a somewhat traditional brawler, you'll be severely disappointed."

Well, that counts me out. I was REALLY hoping for it to be more like Budokai 2 and 3...

eaglebob345 commented on Feature: How Has the PS4 Fared in Its First Year?:

I'm not going to vote on as I don't have one yet, but I think it has had the best first year of any console this generation. I won't be getting one until Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out, though. The Wii U and 3DS are just fine for me right now.

eaglebob345 commented on Ubisoft Reckons You Wouldn't Want to Play an A...:

I actually do want to see an Assassin's Creed set in feudal Japan. I might actually want to play another AC game if they did. Also, one based on Persia or a new Prince of Persia would be nice... and an AC set in Egypt... the only areas they don't want to do are the only ones that I would consider getting if they made them.

eaglebob345 commented on Kingdom Hearts III Development Purportedly Pro...:

@Zup The command deck is actually pretty useful. I liked it more than having the magic gauge from KH2. They said the battle system was to be based off of KH3D, using flowmotion at least, so they might implement the command deck. I don't mind either way, as long as it isn't based off of that garbage from Chain of Memories. 😛

eaglebob345 commented on Talking Point: Is Japan Finally Back in the Game?:

Knowing that KH3 is being focused on makes me want FFXV a little more. I would say Japan is back in the game, but games like Fatal Frame and Yakuza make me wish the Japanese would stop deciding we don't like games before we get to even play them. TGS looks to be quite successful, although E3 and Gamescom stole the show in terms of new reveals.

@Punished_Boss Playstation Insurance sound fun! XD
Seriously though, what else would they cut besides TV and Smartphones? I was thinking that they should spin-off Playstation and their other profitable divisions into seperate entities (so they won't be held back by Sony's dead limbs) and do a sink or swim aprroach on the rest of their divisions.

I think this formula could go well with a Kingdom Hearts theme, too. Slicing through waves of Heartless, Nobodies, Dream Eaters, and even some Unversed. Now I am making myself sad... it should have been Kingdom Hearts instead of Dragon Quest, imo...

eaglebob345 commented on Round Up: Destiny PS4 Reviews Shoot for the Moon:

I don't really want this game based on the sole reason that it is a FPS, because I dislike FPS. That said, I dont think any of these reviews matter. If you like and want the game, get it. The opinions from rwriters on sites that praise yearly sports, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty games should NEVER be considered valid.

eaglebob345 commented on Review: Destiny (PlayStation 4):

@junguler That's exactly what I feel. I just avoid FPS, as they no longer interest me. TPS have always been my thing, which is why Mass Effect and Star Wars Battlefront were so awesome to me.

Also, the thing that annoys me the most about this game is that an uninformed person might think it is a TPS from the commercials I saw (the US ones, anyway). The only other FPS that did that to me before was Deus Ex, which I ended up getting because I thought it was a TPS.
